Engineers in the house please assist on this.. I was on my surface pro 2 and it went off suddenly. Tried to get it back on all to no avail, then I connected the charger and it came on , now I noticed it only comes on when connected to a power supply even when the battery is at 99% . You wrote that the X key press itself, that's a sign of a bad keyboard.

For the @ key giving a different sign, it's just the the keyboard arrangement, UK and US keyboard have different arrangement.

If it a straight enter key, then it is US and a curve enter key like 7 is UK.

Choose another restore point date to see if it solves your problem. But if I may ask, why do you want to restore your PC?

So you can't boot via uefi mode, revert to legacy.

Reinstall the operating system but then check if the laptop is decting your ssd.

Immediately you power it on, keep pressing f9, you'll see the list of boot options, your ssd will be listed there.

Did you check the boot options on your bios?

Kindly confirm the following status on your bios

1. Is Secure boot enabled or disabled?
2. Is Legacy boot enabled or disabled?

You need an Activation Tool to resolve the issue and turn off Windows Automatic Update completely.

I have been using Zorin OS all the while and it keeps tripping off anytime I power it,I will have to press ESC and press Enter Key before I can access the OS.

On this faithful day, I was listening to music on my PC when it suddenly went off, I on it again and it stated "Window repair". After the window repair reached 100% it came up but when I tried to used it again it went off. Since then it would display windows repair, come up after while and shutdown after few minutes. Now the system can't come up, it only displays a white light on the keyboard. What what could be the problem?

Overheating due to faulty fan or clogged processor vent (heat sink) can cause the problem of booting and going off abruptly. Another thing that can cause it is if water has penetrated into the motherboard without your knowledge. So there are other possible reasons.

You need a hardware engr to troubleshoot the issue and resolve accordingly.
