The problem really is that Netanyahu wants to neutralize the group, to prevent them from regrouping.

This is impossible.

I am not surprised this war would ruin their economy. Wars are simply too expensive to run, especially for a small country like Israel.

The war would have added further pressure on Israel had the US not supplied it with weapons.

It's time Israel seeks an end to this war, that is now causing more problems than it solves.

Were it not for the Allied forces intervention in WW2, there would have been no state of Israel till now.

From 65 - 1948 AD, there was nothing like Israel. And even till today, they are heavily backed by US and the west without which there'll be no difference between them and, say, Iran in the Middle East as far as military might is concerned.

By now it should be clear that the goal was never to defeat Hamas, but to cleanse the land of the Arabs; starting with Gaza then next the west bank. The factors that hampered this mission are
(1) Egypt refusing to let the Palestinian be displaced into the Sinai.
(2) Global outcry against the shocking level of devastation especially during the first Month of this war.(Cutting food, water and energy so blatantly was a no no)
(3) Refusal of Arab countries like Saudi Arabia and Qatar to play along
(4) Social media. The government of the United State & Israel cannot control the narrative like they did previously.
(5)The hostage situation
(6) The surprising resolve of the resistance

But natanyahu have not given up, he intends to completely render Gaza unliveable in a bid to force a voluntary migration. All the United state is doing is buying time for him.
