Your chances are high but I don't know why they are not using fast track CAN + to process your visa.

hayatou27:

Sure , I am traveling with my wife , we both have US and UK visas and i got an invitation letter from my sister who is a Canadian, We have both visited 12 countries together as a family and we have previously been issued 5 US visas.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Najashnon: 2:16pm On Aug 21
Please, can I still qualify for the CAN+ treatment if I got a US visa one month after submitting my Canada application?. Planning on notifying IRCC as soon as I get my passport back from US embassy this week. I applied with my husband, he got the US visa as well but has never been to the US.

Eriokanmi:
Now you're talking. The Canadian visa denial was the main reason your visa application processing is being delayed. With this information you just provided, your app will go through the normal processing time oo. But expect a positive response. Usually, once you've travelled at least once to the US and you came back without abusing the visa status(i.e,you didn't overstay your visit receive medical care without fully settling your bills), your Canadian visa app shouldn't take the normal processing time to conclude, regardless if you've traveled to Canada in the past or not. You automatically qualify for Can+ treatment

Hello fam,

Pls I want to apply for Canadian Visitors visa with my family (my self, my husband and my toddler).
I have a valid US visa, my husband does not have.
My older sister is a Canadian citizen, so we want to visit her family as reason to travel.

Pls does it make sense to apply together as family? does it show "japa" signals?
What if I apply alone and the fact that my spouse is in Nigeria is part of proof that I intend to "return"?

Also pls what is a good bank balance for a family of 3, as we would be sponsoring ourselves
is $10k bank balance sufficient?

My case is similar to yours the differences are we don't have a travel history and funding proof is more...

We applied in Feb 2024, The Passport Request was Aug 12, submitted on the 15th and collected (my wife and i) on the 19th although my little boy's app is still processing.

bank balance was $19500 in foreign currency
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Jeboy(m): 4:59pm On Aug 21
Apply along with your toddler. Ensure your sister who is a Canadia citizen sends you an invitation where she will commit to taking care of all your expenses. It means she will show her employment contracts, pay stubs and four months statements.

With that, your husband stands as home ties. It's also good you have some assets in form of land and business or work you are doing and also your husbands work.

With the above, the need for huge PoF from your side will be reduced since your older sister has committed to sponsoring most of your bills. Don't let the travel period be more than 2 weeks.

I got my passport request 5 days ago and till now when I check the tracker, there is no visa number or anything like that

Today I got a mail saying my application status has changed

Am I supposed to be scared ?

-When I log into IRCC account, my application says my eligibility status was reviewed. But it still shows final decision as “approved”

The tracker account says “in progress” and has no visa number displayed

This is really confusing

I don't think there is an issue. If your application says approved it is as ONLY a senior IRCC VO can approve your application after a junior officer has worked on it. The tracker will be updated to reflect your travel details.

You can only be afraid if it's an agent giving you this information but if you DIY no worries.

Pls kindly share your timeline.

Hello bro they already sent a biometrics letter before I could put up the web form, but I Went ahead to put up the web form anyway but my question now is should I wait for it to be corrected before I go do the biometrics or should I wait until it is corrected. Thanks for your swift response in advance.

I don't think so.

You may send them a web form and politely asking them to check if you qualify for CAN plus TRV processing after attaching your visa

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Vvbaby: 4:58am On Aug 22
I own an online store so I included my cac in documents. In my cover letter I also included my website link, Instagram page and an address of my house (meant to be a store but I don't have lol)

I also have a 9yr old that I included her passport and birth certificate in the document section. I've been to the UK, Korea, China, Singapore, Qatar and Vietnam.

gr8nex:

That was super fast. I applied since April and I still haven't gotten a response from IRCC. I have valid US, UK and Schengen visas. Did you submit other supporting documents? I only submitted a copy of my US visa, passport data page, travel history and NIN.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Vvbaby: 4:59am On Aug 22
First time applicant. I have never been to the US or Canada before. I got my US visa in April. Just thought to try Canada as its close so I can visit the two countries together.

hayatou27:

Are you a first time applicant or visa renewal? Its seems pretty fast, i submitted 13th July, i have a valid US and UK visas, but no reponse yet

Congratulations! I noticed that Canada is now focusing on granting visitor visas to the families of citizens and permanent residents, while first-time applicants for tourist visas with no travel history are often denied. Even obtaining a conference visa has become difficult now.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Daslimo: 12:02pm On Aug 22
Hi guys, I'm getting very concerned...

Apr 10, 2024: Application for a conference lodged
Apr 23, 2024: Sent document
May 15, 2024: Sent requested document (USA visa rejection letter in 2018)
May 22, 2024: Sent requested document (Driving records and police certificate, Australia)

There has been no update.
Rejected before (2022; Study permit, PhD + Scholarship || reason: Not convinced that I'd leave Canada)
POF of over $100k, lands, full supporting documents from my host institution, LOE, etc.
Australian processing times for a Tourist visa went from 33 to 55 to 84 to 93 to 112 to 63, and now to 36 days

I earlier sent an email to the Sydney Consulate, and they replied within a week but they haven't responded to my follow-up email.
Kindly advise

Good evening everyone, please I have dual intent application in progress, visitors Visa and spouse sponsorship application, I have done my biometric, medical passed, SA approval for my the spouse sponsorship application, for the visitors visa I just got a refusal letter today and the reason was baseless because I have everything addressed in the visitor visa application. My family ties, more than 20m in my account, properties documents. Travel history. Hope it’s not going to affect my family class application because, the stage I am right now in my PR application is background check. Anyone have experience this before and what is the success rate for my PR and what will likely happen? Share you thoughts please.

Good day to you,
I want to apply for a visitor visa in Canada to attend my brother's convocation in November.
However, in filling the online form, am bit confused, where it's stated
1.Select: why do you need a visitor visa?
What will i select, cause my brother is on study permit not a PR or citizen.
2. Select : why are you applying for the visa?
Will i select to visit as a tourist or family visit. Since i want to see my sibling.
Please i need someone to guide me on this application. I don't want to make a mistake.
Thank you,
Taiwo.

I had concrete information about this your case in the past, the coco is that you should not put up the two simultaneously they will purposely Bleep the visitor visa application up for the PR to go on, I think because of the money involved
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by MayorOfEdmonton: 11:00pm On Aug 22
Each application is processed independently, I know someone who had Visitor visa refused and Spousal approved after awhile.
Having a current spousal application doesn’t exactly scream I plan to visit my spouse and come back to Nigeria 🇳🇬 to the visa officer.
You and/or your spouse should keep sending webform appealing for prompt processing as you already have SA approval. Do you know the visa office processing the application?
