Bandits Kill 13 Farmers In Niger State by treesun: 3:34pm On Aug 22

Bloodthirsty bandits have killed 13 persons on their farms at the Ijuwa fringes of the Alawa community of the Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA) of Niger State.

The LGA Chairman, Akilu Isyaku, confirmed the killing of the 13 farmers in an interview with a local radio station in Minna on Wednesday.

He said the bandits shot nine of the victims to death while four others were killed at a different location the same day.

A local who spoke to Channels Television also said the bandits targeted the community over allegations that members supply intelligence to security agencies on bandits’ movements.

Meanwhile, the Niger State Acting Governor Yakubu Garba has described the attack as satanic and callous.

Garba, in a statement, commiserated with the affected families, community members and the entire people of Shiroro LGA over the unfortunate incident.

This attack occurred at the time farmers are expected to spend more time on their farms. It was gathered that several other farmers far away from the scene of the attack have deserted their farmland for fear of attack.

This should be a stronger reason to protest than that shitty reasons that made the North protest early this year

They showed how violent they could be during the protest, they should met same terror on the bandits and not just going about burning peoples Ancestral houses

The average lifespan of a Northerner is prolly lower than that of a Southerner at this rate. Even the UNO would think Northern Nigeria is an annex of Somalia

These are NOT bandits but TERRORISTS!

These criminals MURDERED 13 people so brutally other farmers got so TERRIFIED they have refused to go to their farms.

Bandits STEAL. They don't KILL and KIDNAP people for ransom. They DON'T terrorise entire communities and make them pay TRIBUTES.

Newspapers and reporters should use the CORRECT labels.

Plus Tinubu and his government need to BUCKLE UP and deal with these terrorists. The North should be OVERRUN with Military checkpoints and Army Barracks.

You shouldn't be able to spit in ANY direction without hitting a soldier. It's a fucking STATE OF EMERGENCY!

These people MURDERED an Emir yesterday and got paid #60M and 5 motorcycles TODAY.

That's INSANE!

That is making TERRORISM, kidnapping and MURDER profitable and more RAMPANT.

Also the fact that Tinubu allows them to continue to SLAUGHTER farmers is one of the reasons for the ARTIFICIAL farmine and UNBEARABLE inflation in the prices of food.

He needs to wake up and CRUSH the criminals before things get even HARDER.

Yet these so called bandits remain elusive to law enforcement agents. Nigeria is a crime in motion. Not even the recent hunger protest could turn the heart of the govt guys to go after these monsters.
Someone was saying the protests have inspired leaders to start listening to the people. That was a big fat lie.

Unfortunately Tinubu is busy buying third hand plane for traveling around the world looking for investors to come and invest in an economy where they are governments under government.
My advice is for Tinubu to declare the state of emergency and go hard against these bastards.

how many times have the south westerners confronted the bandits that have driven some of them to IDP camp in benin republic, killed the obas and farmers like fowl

The only region matching the animals fire for fire is the east, unfortunately the federal govt doesn't want local militias to confront bandits or contain them yet they can't proffer solution
