In Nigeria, bus conductors are known for their exceptional kindness and respectfulness before you board their bus. They greet you with friendly titles like "Oga," "Sir," "Madam," "Senior Man," "Suwa Kawo?" or "Aunty Sabo Express?" Their initial demeanor is nothing short of warm and accommodating.

They seem willing to go above and beyond, even putting their own safety at risk to assist you. Whether it’s helping you cross the road or carrying your heavy luggage, they do so with a smile and often crack jokes to brighten your day.

However, this amiable attitude can undergo a dramatic transformation once you actually board the bus. It’s as if a switch flips, and the once-cheerful conductor becomes a completely different person.

The courteous gestures and friendly demeanor give way to rudeness and disrespect. Suddenly, the conductor who was once helping you navigate the streets is now raising his voice, demanding, "Me yasa baka fada min cewa ba ka da canji ba?" If you dare to argue or protest, you might find yourself on the receiving end of harsh insults directed at you and even your entire lineage.

This stark shift can be quite jarring. The conductor who previously showed great care and concern for your well-being now resorts to cursing and, in some cases, even threats of violence. It’s as though the very person who was once your protector has become your adversary. This transformation is so startling that it makes one wonder if the bus ride is worth it at all.

Have you ever experienced such a dramatic change in behavior from a bus conductor? How did you handle the situation, and what was your reaction?

You must be talking about some conductors in some village somewhere and you haven't travelled much.

Can someone tell this individual what conductors in cities like Lagos and Ibadan are like please.
