Kidnapped Corps Members Have Been Rescued – NYSC DG Ahmed by BeeBeeOoh(m): 7:32pm On Aug 23

The eight members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, who were kidnapped by unknown assailants on their way from Uyo in Akwa State to Sokoto State have been released.

The Director-General of NYSC, YD Ahmed, who addressed the press on Friday, warned Corps Members against travelling at night.

He said the welfare and security of all members will continue to be the priority of the scheme.

“You will remember when these four members were travelling from Uyo in Akwa Ibom to Sokoto,” he started.

“They were kidnapped on 17 August 2024 on Funtua Bisau Road in Zamfara State.

“While in Zambara, we collaborated with the Army, Police, DSS and traditional rulers.

“We also had a meeting with the governor of Zambara State regarding the kidnapping of the prospective corps members.

“Consequently, through the combined effort of the security agencies, especially the Nigerian army and the NYSC, the mission started yielding results with the rescue of the first set of prospective four members.”

My Neighor the current NYSC director in Akwa ibom has been kidnapped for over a month now after 4. 4 million has been paid for his release 😓😰😰😓

Nigeria is a mess…. I thank God for the release of this kids …. No body deserves to be dehumanized in his own country when we are not at war yet 😓

It remains the FECAMDs too. The Catholic medical students painfully kidnapped in Benue some days ago.
I'm indeed using this opportunity to bring to the fore their case and situation. Let's give them the attention too. They're our doctors tomorrow.
