Agbalowomeri: LOL, I forgive you, because they say ignorance is bliss. You show Ichimoku and RSI here; did you do it with pen and paper? Don't you know you're running a program when you use your fancy technical analysis? What if I prefer running my technical analysis on programs I wrote myself, huh? For your mind you think you are funny, LOL. |

ositadima1: You are actually steps ahead of the pack by writing programs that can analyze the NGX. Those that trade forex are used to hearing "bots" trading. Those are actually programs. Though NGX may not be ready for such tech yet, there's no harm in being a pathfinder in that field. 1 Like |

chillykelly86: What's funny is the ignorance some people show here. You're trying to make fun of me over something that you use all the time. From you posting this here to booting up your phone, everything is run by programs. Almost all we do these days involves programs written by other people. Like I said, I forgive his ignorance. |

ositadima1: Ooosiiii you understand what I mean. Doing a point and click is different from writing codes. Some people are scared off when they see charts and graphs thinking it's complicated stuff. Good job you are doing with your tools. I did stuffs like that long time ago. Now I am greyπ 3 Likes |

ositadima1: Why do you think the post was directed at you? Because I mentioned computer programming? Be calming down. "Computer programming" was to emphasize "complicated". Please read the context before you respond 16 Likes |

ositadima1:He wasn't referring to you at all.. I think you probably read out of context. His comment was just a follow up to @willie2015. and I just happen to fall in that category that think TA is a bit complex like Programming If not anything, credence was even inferred and given to your programming method as more advanced not belittled in the slightest. not a call for "ignorance" as you put it. #Peace. 1 Like |

Willie2015: He might not need a chart if he has done his homework, has a good understanding of the fair value of the business, the business is selling at a discount, there is a generous margin of safety and he is planning to hold for 5 years and above based on his understanding of the business. He might miss good opportunities to accumulate if waiting for the right signals. By the way Warren Buffett does not use charts 3 Likes 1 Share |

When making strategic stock purchase, what the investor does is to have a price range and time frame Eg , Abdul will be buying 2 million units of United Capital shares for between N18 and N21 between now and 31st December 2024. Investor using Naira Cost Averaging don't use the chart 5 Likes |

I think emergency reserve fund should be equivalent to 2 months income or 4 months of living expenses whichever is higher. But that is asking for too much in this Tinubu era 1 Like |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 12:39pm On Aug 24 |
emmanuelewumi:I stand with this one.The TA thing sometimes makes it look like you are trying to time the market. If you have fundamental sound stocks. I prefer you use the quarterly results as guide to your entry. Like wapco presently. I have a buy for now.I have been looking if it will dip to 35 or less but it has been hovering around 37.And I know if q3 results which is my target comes well .I may not see it at 37 again unless the fundamental changes for bad.So do I wait to buy at 30 as TA pointer and likely miss out if q3 comes out solid. This happened in preseco and total. I will not wait .I will rather be picking in small batches of dip below 37.This is how I operate my own on any stock I see giving me 50% in a targeted time. And my purchase time target is September as per end of q3 in mind 4 Likes |

Streetinvestor2: What if we enter a general bear market? |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 12:49pm On Aug 24 |
Agbalowomeri:This is generally what will likely happen to all stocks. I will be surviving with dividend from a good business. And when the cycle ends. Then the bull will come. And sound stocks /good business always take the lead when recovering starts. I have experienced it in many stocks like ucap, okumu. My ucap was at BE of #1 presently..The past dividend from it is over #5 paid to me.Okumu was at #50 Cross deal arranged by my broker then.My dividend from it is over #30 paid so far on it.I have plenty like that oh 2 Likes |

emmanuelewumi:Yes. I forgot to say.i try to average down on sound stocks because the bear in stocks market sometimes does not really affect the expected revenue/dividend of the business if the bear do come as result of economic happenings .We go still reason the matter 1 Like |

Agbalowomeri:Why won't you have money. Will your salary or cash flow from active businesses stop coming because of bear on nse .whr you not making money during covid still.I have friends who set standards that they must make investment every Yr no matter how small for every Yr.Even if na village land they buy On another note.Your TA style is not even easy. It is more like you want to time the market perfectly 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 1:20pm On Aug 24 |
Agbalowomeri:That won't be bad if you can perfectly predict when the bear will happen and how long. What is your TA price now for wapco. Can you check that so we can compare after q3 results and if it will hit that target the time if it ever happens |
