You are the one who is late to the party, not TA. After 2022, TA would have advised you to wait for it at 20, as there was support there from 2021. The other significant point would have been around 30, which is clear in the chart because that was the resistance throughout 2022. In 2023, that resistance was broken, and if you had WAPCO in your sights, you should have entered then.

As of today, support is at about 35 or below. If you can acquire it there, you should be fine. Set your target for 45 and above. But why do people try to dismiss what they don't understand? I respect all strategies, whether FA or TA; they all have their strengths and weaknesses. And, just as we have Buffett, we also have Simons, who made billions using technicals.

late ke to the party. It is TA that is late if I was waiting. I went to check my portfolio after reading this your post.I have had wapco since imo River. My BE today is 18.50.It use to be far lower. It went up with many buy of last Yr btw 24-30.I have plenty afolabi units in it like sugar. The new buy is to accumulate more quantity. I have pencilled 7 stock for retirement. And it is on the list strongly for dividend. Sugar is equally on the list. The slight set back for sugar was not paying dividend last Yr.I have target of 9 figure dividend for retirement

@Oga Agba Oko YMcy56, this your instrument is better than a crystal 🔮 ball ooo. Kindly tell us when the next bear 🐻 🐻‍❄ is swallowing the index. Thanks in anticipation.
Agbalowomeri:

It can tell me with a reasonable level of certainty:

- When a bull is over or nearly over

- Change in trend from bull to bear or vise versa

With these, I can now track any individual stock that I am interested in. The likelihood of doing better when investing near market bottom, seems higher. Of course, it is not foolproof

Making it is good, managing it is better, multiplying and keeping it the best but the toughest.

There must be a reason why Buffet has been on the forbe list for decades. He is the longest member on the list.

Some past names on the list are now bankrupt, some have committed suicide.

His slow and steady strategies need to be stidies by anyone who is interested in multiplying and keeping it

Buffett may have been lucky, actually. If FA was as effective as it's often made out to be, we would have seen many FA practitioners in the upper range of Forbes. How can we be sure that no FA practitioner has closed shop and crashed?

There are others with different strategies who have been notably successful:

Jim Simons (quantitative trading)

George Soros (global macro strategy)

Ray Dalio (risk parity approach)

Peter Lynch (growth investing)

And many others.

Let's learn to respect other means. There is no single way to make money; whatever way you follow has risks associated with it.

I understand your point of business valuation.....
But what valuation wont tell us is when or whether we will have buyers ....
that will pay N1000 for the business you purchase at N300 ....
So you have to wait it out on a long term horizon...1..2... 3.. 4 .5yrs probably 10years.

I think valuation can give you that on a sound stocks if you don't get too greedy with your expectations. If you follow the quarterly results I will use presco, okumu and total since second quarter result. If you had 50% in mind. You will agree with me it have delivered. It will not work on bet or hope stocks oh.

In your post, you said TA indicated 30, but you claimed it wouldn't go that low again based on fundamentals. I responded to your misconception about TA, noting that it has been there for a long time to identify different entry levels based on charts. If you dismiss TA because it's suggesting 30 now, you're consulting it too late.

Every one with his style but I don't agree I should have combination of FA and TA before I can hit my target. I don't know anything about TA.I believe I can perfectly hit and surpass my target with FA alone.

I didn't say TA is pointing 30.I only said supposing TA is pointing 30 while my target buy period will expire by end of third quarter.
I don't even know what TA price for wapco. I asked agba to help check. You can help me check too.Go back and read that post again. I was only making an example of a scenario that can happen. And how Iwill play such scenario

It is not late. The earlier you join the better. The Oando stock is the best thing that happened to investors this year. The more you procrastinate the higher the price. I have been in and out three different times. But, now am staying to maximize profits.

Earlier today, one of the forum conversations was about emergency funds. Little did I know I would soon receive a 'save my soul' message from my younger sister. She's not the type to ask for help, despite being a public servant with her own family. I was deeply touched by her request.
On Friday, she had sent a WhatsApp message asking about my family and business; I had no idea she was facing a financial challenge. Trust me, I quickly assessed her situation. She had been a huge help to me during my needy days as a poor undergraduate at the prestigious University of Lagos. Without hesitation, I dipped into my emergency fund and repaid her kindness with N150,000.
Indeed, Nigerians are struggling, and we have a responsibility to support those who were there for us before success came our way. I thank God that I was able to help her, not by my own might or power, but by divine grace.

Please, I want to know why it is difficult to move your shares from one broker to another. I used to have a broker that is no longer active. When I discovered I needed to sell of my shares. He now asked me to fill a registration form under a new firm name claiming he is now a sub- broker (never heard of that). But, i already have two other accounts I will like the share transferred. In trying to do this simple transfer, I had to write letters, do KYC , produce bankers confirmation, produce evidence of owning my shares. My current broker is still on it. Too much paperwork for what would have been seamless. It is well

The best time to enter is now. I currently have 48,000 Oando shares and I am planning to buy more by Monday irrespective of its price.

The closest resistance level is around ₦55 - ₦60 and with the Dangote refinery petrol supplies around the corner, the Oil and Gas stocks on the NGX are about to witness massive demand from foreign investors.

Oando is still very cheap!

A motivation for new members.
The Nigerian market is full of ups and downs.
1. Don't time the market like Oga Agba; you'll miss out on the best days in the market.
2. Wealth is transferred from impatient to patient investors - be patient.
3. Stay current in the market like NSEMPA members.
4. Information is key to value investing.
5. Investing is simple; you don't need to master complex charts - you're not a trader. Trading is difficult in NGX due to relatively low liquidity.
6. Set SMART goals; they're achievable.
7. Ask questions; many are willing to help.
8. Be consistent; avoid FOMO syndrome.
9. Seize the day after due diligence; don't wait for others' approval.
10. Ignore discouraging comments from friends and family.
11. Equity investment proceeds can purchase your dream real estate.
12. Don't invest emergency funds in equity; the risks outweigh the benefits.
13. Don't regret selling underrated stocks; it happens to all investors.
14. Knowing when to sell can be challenging due to emotional attachment.
15. Prepare for red days, which come as market corrections (<10% downward in market value), bearish potential (<20% downward), or the black market day (massive sell-off due to bad news or government policies). Portfolio diversification is the 🔑 keyword, NCA 17. NCA, Naira Cost Average in quality stocks can be rewarding. It keeps your portfolio greenish, otherwise you remain in red zone.
16. Choose your broker wisely. Brokerage fees at the point of purchase can significantly erode your gains. For example:
- 0.4% commission on N1M is N4,000 (Citi Trader)
- 0.5% commission on N1M is N5,000 (Morgan)
- 1.35% commission on N1M is N13,500 (others)
*****Excludes VAT, SEC, and CSCS alert fees***

Bamboo is the worst. They charge 1.5% on considerations. Very cruel!

Thank you for those points.

UCAP is a good business to own. A great longterm investment.

UCEE MfB is a game changer - the runway is sooo long the way i see it.

The consumer lending arm of UCAP has been growing since 2019, with the result now being a solid and proper Digital Microfinance Bank.
What UCEE brings is a hybrid banking model that blends the latest technology, seamless experience, and flexibility of a digital bank with the robust, time-tested infrastructure of a microfinance bank. No wonder the then Consumer Finance Head (Richard Akindele) was busy buying UCAP in 2022/2023.

I am really impressed with the full UCAP ecosystem - Investment Banking, Asset Management, Trusteeship, Securities Trading, Wealth Management, and Consumer Finance.
