Raider76: Atiku has not affected anything here . No be everything be politics . Nnpc withdrew their case 2 months ago . Based on how their Jvs are structured NNPC went to court claiming they have the right of first refusal which they were not given an opportunity to exercise. 1 Like |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by brotherly: 3:43pm On Aug 26 |
The NNPC filed a motion in June 2024 to discontinue its legal action, which had challenged the deal based on its preferential rights under a Joint Operating Agreement with ExxonMobil. This motion is part of a broader settlement agreement that includes NNPC withdrawing all legal actions and both parties discontinuing arbitration proceedings. The settlement is crucial for completing the divestment of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) to Seplat. The deal, initially announced in February 2022, faced delays due to legal and regulatory challenges, including a federal government decision to withhold approval. However, recent developments, including meetings with Nigerian leadership, have helped move the transaction forward. The court's decision on the motion to discontinue the lawsuit is expected to facilitate the finalization of the deal, which has been under intense scrutiny for two years. Despite the legal challenges, Seplat's stock remains stable, reflecting a 49% increase year to date. https://nairametrics.com/2024/06/13/nnpc-applies-to-withdraw-suit-challenging-exxonmobils-1-28-billion-asset-divestment-to-seplat/#:~:text=The%20move%20follows%20Seplat%20Energy,Mobil%20Corporation%20for%20%241.28%20billion. 2 Likes |

Agbalowomeri: There was no market makers then. Banks just need to give him N1 billion to N2 billion and he will perform miracle on their stock price and the stock can move from N5 to N10 , he will money, insiders will also make bigger money, then jump into another stock and perform the same thing. By the time the market crashed he was owing banks over N100 billion, he also lost his personal funds running into tens of billions of Naira. Probably if had bought some real estates, fixed income and forex with his loot he would have been in a better position. 3 Likes |

ndept: Chief ndept, please take it easy. I understand your feelings though it is best we do not thread the lanes where verbose words are magnified. Whether cast or not casted, the ones who are mixing the concrete should know that if the rains pour down while mixing their concrete, the mixture will get to slurry and be come liquidised. Being part of this forum, I have always felt that the ultimate goal should be to break the barriers of the faceless and audioless nature of this forum to being able to meet and host each other. That for me is very important and keeps me in check a lot of the times except if e don too much. 😁 May the Lord continue to bless all of us, especially the shepherds who continue to provide guidance, one waynor the other to their sheeps. 🙏🏽 2 Likes |
