Russia blocked telegram because it offers terrorist and enemies of state unlimited privacy and protection because there is little to zero censorship France, UK, USA, EU.. Putin is a dictator, Pavel Durov is global citizen, he must be protected, he's fighting for free speech. Lol, as if he (Pavel) was a threat to Moscow, they will allow him to leave Russia. Moscow simply crippled his business because he refused to cooperate with the government. In 2024, France arrested telegram founder because he's platform is sponsoring terrorism. Pavel is a dumb guy, why will he allow jihadist and terrorist to use his platform? He should be jailed. Dumb people everywhere 11 Likes

Ghostagain: Western media outlets always put on their A-game as far as propaganda is concerned. Just like how the US universities has imposed martial law in their campuses hence banning pro Palestinian protesters. 9 Likes

Social media platforms should be controlled by the UN. That is the only way. In this case Pavel blindfolded himself and believed in the corrupt preacher's words. Some people promote and celebrate things in Russia but arrest people doing that same thing elsewhere... OkpaNsukkaisBae: 1 Like |

OkpaNsukkaisBae: We are getting there So Russia blocked telegram because it was offering privacy to terrorism (infact, Russia was mostly concerned with those criticising Govt) France arrested Telegram boss for denying their security service access to those organising terrorism etc on the platform If Telegram boss was in Russia, would he be (a) arrested to face charges like in France or (b) Fall out of window like numerous Russians having problem with Govt 3 Likes |

OkpaNsukkaisBae:People argued here that Russia destroyed their own pipeline. I've read some of the most bafflingly e-diotic comments ever on this thread. I'm still in recovery. The propaganda feels like voodoo. It is the Orwellian denying the evidence of one's eyes. 4 Likes |

grandstar:If I did not know better I'd say the Dems are punting on this election cycle. The Walz pick was my giveaway. Like OK let's phase out Biden and Kamala and in the next election cycle field proper candidates Needing a teleprompter and cues at under 60 tells me the woman is actually dull. I've never heard her discuss anything expansive without assistance. It's shocking I understand hating Trump cos he says a couple of things that gets you in your feelings but are people seriously seriously telling me that they had a company and were going to do time for 4 years they would trust it with Kamala in their absence over Trump? You would trust Kamala to keep the lights on in your startup? 4 Likes |

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has been dragged to National Industrial Court (NIC) by over 100 of its staff that were recently sacked under the bank’s re-organisation strategy by President Bola Tinubu’s administration, demanding payment for damages and entitlements among others. https://www.arise.tv/over-100-sacked-cbn-staff-sue-for-wrongful-termination/#google_vignette Some of the CBN staff sacked in May 2024 have sued the bank and are demanding compensation for wrongful termination. I am interested in how this suit will play out considering the parties involved (CBN, their ex-staff and Wole Olanipekun). Wole Olanipekun is charging N30m as legal fees |

GloriousGbola: Very big trip. I once worked with a senior colleague whose mum retired from CBN. She was the first person that mentioned it that when CBN staff retire, they usually get a bumper pension package . I guess that's what these ones are fighting for now. They know the sack will definitely deny them of that bumper package their other colleagues will get |

Ibime: The way u guys always bash social sciences , arts and humanities course graduates ehn; one would think Nigeria is a country where there are job opportunities for STEM related courses. The funny thing is the people who form bulk majority of unemployed in this country are actually those who studied STEM courses. Go to KPMG, EY,PWC,Delloitte, Banks, Insurance companies, HR consulting firms, etc; na engineering graduates, Biochemistry graduates, Geology graduates, etc full there. How many jobs are available for STEM course graduates in this country? If not that the aforementioned companies absorb them, where do u think those STEM people will be working ? In the real sense of things sef, STEM is like waste of time in this country because most of the graduates of STEM courses don't work in STEM related jobs. 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 4:43pm On Aug 26 |
BlueRayDick: Only lunch will account for 15k there. There's HMO Pension Leave allowance 13th month. Point me to any minimum wage jobs that had/have these. |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 4:48pm On Aug 26 |
izzou: Lolz. HMO has nothing to do with minimum wage . There’s a law (National Health Insurance Act 2022) which makes it compulsory for employers to provide health insurance for their staff. Pension is also statutory . PENCOM act 2004 mandates ur company to arrange contributory pension scheme for their staff ; it’s only 8% of ur salary that will be deducted as its contribution out of the 70k while ur company will pay 10% from their pocket. Lagos state government job has leave allowance and 13th month which has nothing to do with the 70k minimum wage. The fact is that 45k is in contravention of the minimum wage bill Tinubu just signed. |

Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by Ibime(m): 4:53pm On Aug 26 |
BlueRayDick: STEM allows you to work in all the fields you mentioned. A basic competence in Maths is guaranteed with STEM which is an element in all the jobs you highlighted and is what all those roles are looking for. Whereas with social sciences, you cannot guarantee any competence in Maths whatsoever. The only social science guys that are dextrous are lawyers and economists. Any other social science and your CV is going straight in the bin. Harsh reality of life. 3 Likes 1 Share |
Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by BlueRayDick: 5:08pm On Aug 26 |
Ibime: Which one is dexterous? Is it not that they will first train them in those jobs ni? If u are an engineering graduate who gets employed in EY or First bank, u will have to undergo training like everyone else. All those talk about dexterous is just to massage ur STEM ego. The same training they will give a Yoruba education graduate is what they will give a mech engineering graduate who has been drafted into their graduate trainee program. The crux of the matter is , most STEM degrees are useless in Nigeria because there are no much STEM jobs waiting for them in the labor market. so, I don't the need for continuous bashing of social sciences job. Maybe if u were talking about labour market in the UK, US and the west in general sha it will make sense. |
