There was no market makers then.

Banks just need to give him N1 billion to N2 billion and he will perform miracle on their stock price and the stock can move from N5 to N10 , he will money, insiders will also make bigger money, then jump into another stock and perform the same thing.

By the time the market crashed he was owing banks over N100 billion, he also lost his personal funds running into tens of billions of Naira.

Probably if had bought some real estates, fixed income and forex with his loot he would have been in a better position.

Oooh that's how financial illiteracy dey disgrace people from 1900

Atiku has not affected anything here . No be everything be politics .

Nnpc withdrew their case 2 months ago .

Based on how their Jvs are structured NNPC went to court claiming they have the right of first refusal which they were not given an opportunity to exercise.

I am referring to the fact that it was Atiku's comments that forced them to quickly come out and explain themselves to the public. That's what opposition is supposed to achieve.

Exactly!
That's what used to happen.....
Once there's pullback many people pick race and the "I told you so" will come and add to their fears and remind them how they'll wait for it at sub N10 😁

Stocks do pullback every now and then but with small profit taking, then analysis will start on how it's going back to base.

Pyramiding works like hard drugs.

You have a million borrow 2 million making 3 million. You turned the 3 million to 15 million. Then get another loan of 30 million making 45 million and then turn it to N100 million. You will not want to diversify at all, you will continue to borrow against your unrealized profits

Hope you also heard of Afroil Oil. A company in the petroleum marketing sector. Other stocks in the sector like Oando, Mobil, African Petroleum, MRS etc were over N100.

Afroil was the only one selling for 50k, the stock later moved to over N8.00. Even though it could pay it's rent for about 3 years and no dividend for almost 10 years

Insiders were surprised by the renewed interest in their company by the investing community and that gave them the opportunity to sell their shares which used to be highly illiquid

The retiree that sold his house at Ikeja to buy the private placement of Big Treat nko.

That Chinese babe did strong things to Nigerians she made billions of naira from the offer.
I learnt she was duped by her Nigerian boy friend and she decided to get back at us on a bigger scale

When we could not get opportunities in the stock market again, a lot of offers came up in the private placements.
People were selling stocks to buy shares in different private offers.

As we speak we still have about N100 billion trapped in different private offers almost 20 years when they got money from investors

Japaul was listed during that bullish euphoria of 3004 to 2007.

At about N150 to $1 in 2006.

Imagine was a debt of N100 billion in 2006 is equivalent to in 2024.

I was lucky my broker did not approve the additional margin loan for me in 2005. If not I would have been roasted like many investors and traders who vowed not to come near the stock market again, after the market showed them street.

What an irony, during the euphoria Presco and Okomu sold for less than N10.

The bull run only affected banking and insurance stocks.

Unilever was around N8, bought some Lafarge for N9. 00

I still wonder why people feel so comfortable attacking OGG when he shows his cards. They need to put some respect on the dude's name.

If you go back to see his posts based on his recommendations, OGG don help many people with his sleek and articulated picks!

Why not, a pull back to ₦40 or ₦45 is a good point to reload.

I currently have around 48,000 units. I want to make it 100k units if the market can pull back. ₦200 per share for Oando is sure provided Tinubu is president of Nigeria.

That zenith matter pain me die.I had 20,000 units. It was suppose to be my first 1,400,000 hit in the stock market. In my very eyes the paper profit vanished .And naira lose value join. I remember a land I bought for 45k which I later sold for 600k.I regretted not selling zenith at #70 because of emotional attachments to expecially bank sock.i bought it at #10 .60 at po and gtb at 10.90. If I am not wrong

I do not think it is financial illiteracy in this case, I want to believe it is overconfidence. Poor or abandoned risk management process. Believing you can recover from a loss and then get deeper and deeper into the loss. I recently watched Rogue Trader and then I now realized why they commit suicide after losing money especially when it is other people's money.
