How many schlumberger , Shell, Chevron , etc are in Nigeria to absorb 1/64 of graduates in STEM related courses ?

Egbon u studied a STEM course , I’m sure u worked in non-STEM before u relocated . That’s my point

Yes and I worked in non STEM because after I couldnt get into Oil company.

I went and bodied those who that was their pinnacle of their career.

Their first choice was my own backup. Can they say the same? And some of the guys we entered together still left when STEM opportunities came. So I had more options STEM and non STEM jobs, while they only had non STEM which in many cases they still get shenked at aptitude test level

Its like your dream girl is someones backup choice

U will only body people who don’t know their stuff; those that do have equal chance as u do. Nothing to see there.

It’s all about how smart the people u are competing against are , it’s not about the course they studied .

The conversation has tethered on comparing STEM vs non-STEM grads a bit sha...

But if a non-STEM course gives you zero advantage over a STEM grad for those non-STEM jobs, isn't it better to kuku do the STEM course and have more options available to you?

If STEM is that person’s choice , fine. But if as a parent u start forcing ur child to do STEM because u believe STEM is the only way he can make a name/career for himself , then u are not really a good parent (sorry to say)

An average STEM graduate will pass a regular Math's based aptitude test than an average non STEM graduate

Do you agree with that?

A student who graduates with 5.0 CGPA in history & international relations and another who graduates with 5.0 in Mathematics have equal chances of landing a graduate trainee role simply because they are both smart.

Apart from interview performance, you may not know it but even a 4.0 GPA Maths will be valued over a 5.0 GPA History applicant, so long as the job involves commerce and numbers. They are most likely being interviewed by a numbers man if you are talking Financial services industry, and no numbers man will rate a 1st class History over a 2.1 Mathematics

U are a typical old school naija parent that will force their child to study STEM related course instead of following their passion. 😂

Better to be a warrior in a garden than a Gardner in battlefield.

I don't even know your dedication to this said passion. You will have to show me irrefutable evidence that this your passion will yield fruit. You might hate me now you will thank me later
