On percentage difference, Vinicius Jr offer was huge and more tempting compared to this.

My brother, percentage does not count if you consider how low €130k is in comparison to €740k

If the offer was €250k and €740k, then we can talk
But €130k?

I don't know what you do
But if you got a chance to increase your earnings 7fold, would you turn it down in the name of legacy??

I want Osimhen in Chelsea as well, but the young man has a decision to make and I won't blame him if he goes for the bag
Most if not all of us will do the same

That one concern you
Na legacy his children go chop?
Until you face a similar situation before you can talk authoritatively
See, that legacy gangan is what will keep him relevant when his boots are hung.

Footballers who had a memorable career have better chances of securing endorsement/ambassadorial deal.

Osimhen is not someone who was lucky to get the spotlight. He has all it takes to keep shining.

Osimhen is already rich,
If he cannot manage the kind of wealth he has now to feed his children, what makes u think he will manage the wealth he would acquire in Saudi Arabia.
It's not all about money.

I agree with you completely
I just wanted us to examine both sides of the argument..
I honestly want him in Chelsea or PSG

€740k a week?
Even if e blow the money for 40 weeks, out of 52 weeks, he will still not be poor
He would never get such an opportunity to grab a big bag, hope you know?

Well at this juncture, we don't need too much tinkering
We should use friendlies for that

I'm just concerned that Osimhen and Ademola are not match fit,
Well I hope other forwards step up this time

That Tanzania based player wey Finidi like to invite, I've forgotten his name
Dude has been rightly dropped

I would have loved to see Dessers on the list too
I feel he's consistent

We need to refresh our CB options
Ekong and Ajayi aren't getting younger
Our next set of CBs should be getting prepped now

Where's Tella?

Iheanacho should be retired from this team, I'm watching hin now and he just ain't got it anymore, he's just another unnecessary cook that spoils the broth. Solanke and Madueke should be approached and courted if NFF had some brains left in them.

Lesley Ugochukwu, Christiantus Uche and Akinsanmiro should be in the frame of a call up...even Carney Chukwuemeka should be approached, these guys won't wait on England forever so why not try?

Ndidi just like Iheanacho is yesterday's news, time to move on.

Lastly the Ekong and Ajayi generation is getting old, the new kids coming up like Vince Osuji, Frederick's, the kid who just got signed by Villarreal etc should be prepping up.

Otherwise an overall decent list with some few eyebrow raising selections.

I understand your point but what Vinicius Jr was offered was still more tempting to what he is earning now at Madrid compared to what osimhen is earning in Napoli and what Chelsea presented.

Vinicius ......€200 million per season plus bonuses for 5yrs (1 billion Euros) and separate 10-year contract to become an ambassador for the 2034 World cup..
He is presently earning €20 million in Madrid. The Saudi offer was more tempting. Osimhen is still young, he can still go to Saudi later and earn big.

Bold of you to think Osimhen is broke. Dude is making 200k weekly in Italy and he has been in Napoli for more than a year. Staying in Europe is what he needs at this point in his career. Saudi offer is juicy but no need to rush there now. Offers like that or better will still come when he’s done with Europe at 30yrs+. Osimhen is rich and made for life already, he needs to build good football legacy now. Conquering EPL with Chelsea or Arsenal is what he needs in his career now.

Osimhen needs to fire his agent and get a better agent. Imagine he is being managed by late Raiola The king of football agents. He would have secured a move to a top club since if Raiola was his agent. Osimhen is a top player Ballon d’or number 8th, he should get a good agent for his transfer deals.

Decent list. On current form, Aribo deserves to be there at the expense of Alhassan. Even Aribo has seen more game time than Onyeka this season.

@Joebie and GoodJoe, can we cope without Nwakali in the middle?

Sequel to our discussion here on the awards to the most detribalized Nigerians on this football thread, l would like to inform us that the price is now 200k and not 150k as intitially proposed. This is to enable every winner to atleast have something tangible given the galloping inflation in our country.
Thus, l am calling on @ TheSuperNerd,Charlesemeka, humility33, Chriskels, Majoribanks..etc and all those actively involved then on the discussions to expedite action and give us the 3 nominees as the thread decided.
Or, better still, provide an account number for me to transfer the money asap, because we are entering the Ember months and we all know how it happens with expenses.
Thanks

It's not all about money.

But that's not the point though.

No one is saying Victor should go to Saudi as tempting as the offer is. However, going to Chelsea for the reported weekly wage of €130k is a no no. Beyond the ridiculousness of the amount offered z it is reflective of how he's perceived and valued by the team which for me is the bigger issue.

It means he won't even be one of the top 10 earners in the team and players like Caicedo and Nkunku will earn more than he does. It's not the money, it's the disrespect. And like a wise man once said, don't go where you're tolerated which from the looks of things Chelsea looks like it right now.
