The bikes at the station were calling N500 to Moniya bus stop. That's pure extortion. I know the area, cos I live like 15 minutes away. I just walked 7-8 minutes from the station to the T junction, and I got a cab going to Moniya bus stop for N50. A bike from that junction would be like 100-200 naira.

I don't think I can enter this train especially if it's night time. Make them original owners no go begin obtain. Just look at some tout looking figures parading the train stop.

Did the train make any other stop to pick up more passengers aside the Papalantoro stop?

kayo80:
I'm at Alogomeji Rail Station in Lagos right now, waiting to board the train heading to Ibadan.

The train picked passengers at Abeokuta station.

Who knows how much they're charging now for Lagos to Ibadan by road?

I want to compare with this train ride

It depends on which part of Lagos you are entering the bus from. If it's from Iyana Ipaja (where I usually enter it from), it is 3,000.

No, it is at Iyana Ipaja garage, and i think they added 500 on top the last time i entered it three weeks cos of fuel scarcity. It has never been more than 4k sha, and i travel to and fro ibadan every month.

Their buses are not usually comfortable to ride in though, I just like that they drop me at Sango, which is not far from where i stay (Ojoo). I used to travel by rail before, but that 3 hours train journey is just too long for me...and the fact that the station is too far from town.

How much is the train ride now? It was 3k6 the last time i traveled by rail. I think that was late last year.

How many hours is it then by road.
Well me I'm not in a hurry, as I'll be traveling a day or 2 earlier before the day I want to do something there.

Besides it's 1hr43mins from what I'm seeing on the app, so please how did you come about the 3hrs you said?

I'll like to experience the comfort of the rail transport sha, as I've not enjoying it before.

The varying prices of tickets I saw there were:

Standard: #3,600
Business Class: #6,500 &
1st Class: #9,000

I guess I'll be going with the standard class abeg. Me I no get money jarey cheesy

Might return with the 1st Class sha, to see how cozy it is grin grin grin

lol...no Agberos o! lol. But you can be unlucky to sit next to a talkative like my last time on the train. When they first started, the standard was cool, but with time, it started turning to normal lagos bus levels, with people just talking/making noise inside. That's why i would once in a while enter the business class instead. I can't remember how much that one was, but it's much better.

It's about 1 hour 50 minutes by road if you enter from Iyana Ipaja garage, and it is about 1 hour 20 minutes if you enter from Ojodu Berger.

"Besides it's 1hr43mins from what I'm seeing on the app, so please how did you come about the 3hrs you said?"

I'm speaking from experience. I check the time when the journey starts at Yaba station (by 4pm), and the time we get to Ibadan station (Moniya), by 6:50pm. That's about 3 hours. Anyway, the last time i took the train was december last year...maybe they have increased the speed of the train.

Were you allowed to enter the business class despite not paying for it?

No o, they all have AC. What separates them is the number of passengers per seat. In the standard class (the cheapest), you have three seaters on one side, and two seaters on the other side. If you are in the middle seat of a three seater, you wont really enjoy your trip. The busness class usually has fewer people, and two seaters on either side of the aisle. The seats are bigger and more comfy than the ones in the standard class. First class is the ultimate. But they are all okay sha.
