You and your husband can actually apply from the UK if you have jobs in the UK which should serve as good home ties. If you dont have any vacation history try one of the Europe country around 1st lets say France or one nearby to get a visit history on your passports.

If you live and work in UK then it is only ideal you use your UK bank statement, offer letters to show proof of work or business and then official leave letters to show you have financial access and stability in the UK. That is not to say you cant add Nigeria Bank Account to the PoF.

Have nothing less than 20k CAD in total equivalent (both pounds and Naira) in your PoF as the places you re visiting and activities will determine your spending.

Screenshot the cost of places you will lodge, return flight cost and other cost and put them up in a budget for the trip. Add an itinerary of where and when you're visiting.

Avoid lump sum or explain it. Goodluck.

)
It has its requirement. You must have a relative (brother, sister, spouse, parent etc) that has a work, student, PR or Citizenship status in Canada.

OR

you can do a short course (not more than 6 months) that is a pre-requisite to what you want to study in the institution. Let the admission from the institution be given to you on that basis of short course completion as pre-requisite and other qualifications you have.

Else return back to your country to apply.

If you are a UK resident as a worker, then why not apply for a Canada visa with your family in the UK? Why go through the stress of flying to Nigeria just to apply for a Canada visitor visa?

Family will be in Nigeria for burial by tomorrow and will be around for another one month or so.....thats why biometrics will likely be in nigeria

Good day, everyone, this a general post for anyone who has ideas or answers to my questions.
I am mother of three looking to move to Canada with my kids. I have a five year visitor visa already. My questions are:
Which province is most suitable for me,in respect to settling in, finding a job and school for my kids, price of accommodation and cost of living generally.

I have always been a business woman and from what I have gathered it's easier for skilled workers to get jobs so which training or programs can I run and get certified before travelling next year?

Is it possible to write Canadian certificate examinations from Nigeria and get certified.

I'm based in Port Harcourt,is there anyone from Port Harcourt here who can help me with information on any of the questions I have asked?

I'm open to any advice I get because I intend to either get a job from here before coming or get a job when I arrive.

Please help a sister.
Pls let's talk.

Canada is changing many policies as the country faces unemployment and an economic crisis. To anyone planning to relocate, please follow the right path, as Canada is now tightening its immigration policies. This is not the time to waste your money applying for a visitor tourist visa if you have no travel history or family in Canada.

Hello my beloved Nairalanders!

Pls I have 2 questions to ask about my application.

1. I submitted my application for visit visa this week and by the news that came up yesterday that the visit visa to work policy has been cancelled on 28th August but they will continue to process application received before that date.

2. I did biometric 9 years ago but the application was refused and I payed for biometric few days ago to increase my biometric validity after submitting another application but yet to receive BIL letter for the biometric till today.
It seems they don't require it again since the old one is still valid,

My fear is that hope it won't affect the duration of my visa?
Does it mean

Does it also means we that those that has filed their application before the cancellation can still convert visit to work visa?

I will really appreciate your response

1.the new policy did not concern you since it visit visa you applied and you not going canada to change to work visa

2.Write to ircc that you paid for biometic and request new biometic letter

And lastly Note that the processing time for a Visitor visa remains at 6 months. However, approval has become increasingly challenging due to the current circumstances in Canada, where many individuals including 700% raise in nigerians that are claiming asylum on a Visitor visa. As a result, the rejection rate has risen significantly.

You are responsible for who you listen to.

Great counsel has been given to you. Let me also remind you that this is a faceless forum and whoever you do any business with doesn't concern Nairaland or the people here. Be careful and not be desperate.

Hello @debbie

Does this applies to visitors applying for LMIA work permit alone or including SOWP?

You right becos I am in Canada, and many Nigerians are easily scammed under the pretext of help from strangers regarding immigration matters. Many are left stranded with fake LMIA and false promises, losing their savings, only to end up stranded on the streets of Canada because of the mentality that every law can be broken or bribed!

This does not affect the SOWP applicant for an open work permit, while the LMIA is for a closed work permit. However, the path to PR will be harder, so students need to plan ahead, as many students now risk deportation with their PGWPs having ended or about to end without obtaining PR. The Canadian government wants to reduce foreign workers and PR applicants due to the current job and accommodation problems facing it own citizen, which are starting to affect the crime rate in Canada. The government needs to act fast, as it risks losing the election next year!

since the influx of Nigerians coming to Canada in the hopes of converting started. I still haven’t seen anyone who successfully did it. They all filled for asylum or paid big money for arrangee LMIA. The ones that were making mouth on Nairaland all disappeared. Converting to work visa has always been a pipe dream.

thats not the point. Off course there will be a few that got it. But the way some influencers and agents were promoting/ packaging it. Did it materialize like that in real life. If it did people won’t be claiming asylum/aduro.

Let’s not deceive ourselves: 4 out of 5 Nigerians who land in Canada with a visitor visa and manage to get an LMIA to convert to a work visa pay heavily for it. In some cases, it backfires as companies shut down, leaving them with a closed work permit and a loss of over $15K. Believe social media at your own risk. The majority on this forum last year, who were shouting about LMIA, are now silent after landing in canada only to get stranded and resorting to fake gay and lesbian claims in Toronto, now attending many strange clubs and gatherings just to boost their chances at asylum hearings as fake defenders of sodomy shocked
