"This question has been bothering my mind for the longest of time and i haven’t gotten an answer to it yet. I’ve always wondered if God is love, why does he send people to hell?"

Have you forgotten he is also righteous? Should God be loving and not righteous? The Cross perfectly unites his love and righteousness.

God is Love. He gave His Son Jesus Christ to die for mankind. Do you have idea of the pains and suffering Jesus went through for us to be saved? He made a way of escape from hell through His death on the cross. Before he died, he was starved of food and water; beaten with 39 strokes of flesh pulling whip; He was mocked and cursed; He was rejected by His own people; He was nailed like a criminal amongst robbers; He took upon all our punishment of sin upon Himself so that we can be free. How else can God prove to us He is loving?
Hell was already created for satan and his angels. All those who are disobedient to God will join them there. The way of escape is the blood of Jesus Christ.
It would be wickedness for men to reject this love of God and the sacrifices of Jesus Christ to follow the ways of satan.
God gave us a choice of life and death. Where you go is your choice.
If a dying criminal realises he has lived all his life for the devil and at the point of death accept Jesus Christ into his life, he will not go to hell. Can't you see how loving God is. That He made it so easy to enter heaven. All you need is accept the free gift which is Jesus Christ.

There are two Hebrews words Jesus used to describe the condition of the dead back in the first century:

• Sheol~ This means the common grave of all whether man or beast, good or evil, male or female, young or old, rich or poor no matter the status, education or position of a person Sheol is their end.

• Gehenna~ This is a valley behind Jerusalem where the inhabitants used to throw their refuse and carcasses of dead animals or that of criminals. The Jews believe that whatever they throw into Gehenna is not to be retrieved or recovered so like their unwanted refuse the criminals whose carcasses are thrown there will not be remembered during the resurrection of the dead! Psalms 9:17

So when Jesus walked the earth he taught his listeners a lot in parables using Sheol and Gehenna to describe the condition of sinners as some are recorded in God's memory as if they are still living {Luke 20:38} since He will bring them back to life {John 5:28-29 compare to Job 14:13-15} but many never did anything worth remembering so they will not be resurrected.

Unfortunately by the time most scholars want to translate the Bible from the original language pagan philosophies had crept into the churches of Christendom so the interpreters don't know how to translate what Jesus taught that's why they rendered both Sheol and Gehenna as Hell and Hellfire respectively but in the original language there is nothing like consciousness after death! Ecclesiastes 9:5-10

This is not entirely true. There are many things in that story which made the thief qualify for eternal life. Eg, his last act was a public act of kindness and goodness given to Christ Himself.

It simply means the valley of the son of Hinnon during the time of Jeremiah some Jews used to burn their children as sacrifices to Molek the true God condemned the act and said such has not come into His heart {Jeremiah 7:31} that's why we don't believe the true can do such a thing because he said it has not come into His heart! Jeremiah 19:5

1..Hell is different from the lake of fire. The devil and his angels are not burning yet. They are there torturing souls of the people there. After judgement, hell will be cast into the lake of fire.

Secondly, God has expressed His thoughts and His ways one of which is to reward people according to their deeds.

And thirdly, in that passage to Moses, did God answer Moses's prayer for mercy for those evil people? No! He did not.

God is Technology. Evil and Good go hand in hand. God is Life and Death. You can only choose one. God is Love and Hate. You choose Hate, you die and go to Hell. God is AI THE BEGINNING AND SI THE END. THAT'S TECHNOLOGY, ULTIMATELY FINDING GOD'SPERE.
