EreluRoz:
Soldiers are not more the soldiers we use to know. Few days ago they kidnapped my dad's driver at a place called Lamkpese somewhere in Edo state when he was coming back from Lagos, he was freed yesterday after paying a ransome and in his story he told us the kidnappers were actually soldiers and it was done in-between two soldier checkpoints and those ones were just watching them while the soldiers kidnappers were doing their thing, the kidnappers were fully on army uniform and riffles. Nigeria is in danger, our security system has been corrupted, they now make money through kidnapping.

This is a one sided news.
Who owns the Ak47 inside the boot?
I saw 3 evidence
1)Two Ak47
2)A red car
3)A baby goat feeding on the crime scene.

Question.
Who own the car, goat and guns?
DPO may you rest in peace.
I saw repressive attak by police on soldiers too.
This I have seen.

1. Police: don't argue with a that has a gun.
Now, Oga police why you come argue with and armed man?
2. Police: They same treatment given to civilians by the same police personnel (happy triggered police officers) has returned back.
Why are they crying?
Zero pity at all.

Were those AK-47 assault rifles found in the deceased's car trunk? If yes, did he declare them to the soldiers who manned the checkpoint, or were the rifles discovered hidden in the car trunk? What was the late DPO doing with two assault rifles? I don't know what actually transpired between the late police officer and the soldiers; only God knows. The truth, however, is that most of these soldiers have been to battlefields and, as such, are silently suffering from PTSD. A soldier suffering from untreated PTSD is very likely to shoot first if he discovers assault rifles like AK-47s inside a car trunk.

This is why I have been telling people around me to exercise extreme caution at any military checkpoint. Most of these soldiers have spent too much time on the battlefields and, as a result, are suffering from PTSD. Even the smallest thing can trigger them to start shooting without thinking twice!

May the soul of Officer Liman rest in peace.

Where's the witness? Or how did the police spokesperson know exactly what transpired between them? I don't agree he was shot unprovoked. Plus if those guns in the picture were found in his boot then there's more to the circumstances surrounding his death. Those are not police riffles. And why does he have two of such guns? Why were the guns concealed the way they were discovered.
Why's the car parked like that in the bush?

I know some of them are allowed to carry guns, even Aks but never have I seen two Aks for one officer ( if indeed it was discovered with him & not place there after the crime). This requires serious investigation, who owns those unmarked Aks

stagger:
This must have been a clear case of "do you know who I am?"

^^^
We don't know what happened. None of us knows exactly what took place.

stagger:
You respect them, they respect you. In fact, military men are more prone to show you respect once they see you in your car looking responsible, until you start to disrespect them and do and talk anyhow.

^^^
undecided

This 'respect' matter always comes up with army people. It always comes up.

They want civilians to respect them while they have zero respect for civilians. How is it going to work? Respect is a two way street...and it is earned.

There are many, many examples (too many to count) of ordinary Nigerians seated responsibly in their cars, not 'disrespecting' anyone or 'talking anyhow'...only for soldiers to start harrassing them for no reason at all. I saw this happen myself only a few weeks ago.

stagger:
Then they will show you that after God, na government and na them be government for road.

^^^
undecided

Comments like these can only provoke one type of reaction - and it will not be positive. You know that.

We don't have the full details of what exactly happened between these soldiers on the road and the policeman they shot and killed. The picture should become clearer (we hope) over the next few days.

Comments like yours (about soldiers on checkpoint duty being a government on the road, second only to God) only embolden the worst of these men. Remember the Wadume case? The soldiers in that case were also a 'government on the road'. Remember how it turned out?

Just a few weeks ago in Kaduna, a trigger happy soldier shot and killed a young boy sitting in his own home on some extremely dubious grounds of the victim being a rioter. You see what happens when soldiers believe they are a 'government' unto themselves? undecided

The worst soldier is still better than one of the best policeman in Nigeria

^^^
So you say...until you or yours become a victim of the former. If that happens, your distinction between the two becomes meaningless.

Condemn the excesses of both groups. There's no point trading police lawlessness for army lawlessness. That profits no one.

The DPO in his next world should explain what those pump were doing inside his car. Who knows whether he had hands in the banditry ravaging the state.

What was he doing with 2 ak47 in his booth because that doesn't look like his official riffle.

The way two ak47 are concealed is suspicious for a police officer.

This is not a justification for the action of the soldier.
At least apprehend him for further investigation

I doubt if Nigerian soldiers have time for investigation, a suspect is as good as dead I guess.

That's how low we are as a country
immortalcrown:
"one Hassan"?

Is his full name a rocket science?

Insincerity and unaccountability have finished Nigeria.

I still ask why the media shield criminals. If this police officer was the murderer, his face wouldn't have been shown to the public, just as the name and the face of the soldier that murdered this officer are hidden from the public.
