Hello guys, I need your advice on this matter. I am presently in Canada studying and I want my family to join me here. I have an individual (not a relative) who wants to sponsor my family to Canada and his statement of account meets or is more than sufficient for the proof of funds requirements. He has also confirmed that the letter he gives together with statement of account can be notarized by me. Also, I have little savings which I can add to support the application for my family. Kindly advise me on the best way to go about the proof of funds thing based on the above narration. |

Maria96: Exactly my point. By the way, he never said he was studying, negative Nancy. I noticed you faded into the background after I found information from my consultations to disprove you. Keep peddling your pessimism, nobody is buying. |

DTruth10:i’m not on here for you. If i see your username elsewhere i won’t even recollect. I’m not obliged to monitor or see your subsequent posts knowing the kind of delusional person you are. Enjoy your day and run along. |

Maria96: Sure. Your false assumptions and "information" were disproved and for that I hold a lot of gratitude. You should pause, think and review before contributing "feedback" on here, especially since you obviously do not know as much as you claim or think you do and your contributions are usually colored with such pessimistic and sanctimonious hues. God help you. Cheers. 3 Likes |

MarksmanD:I was not comparing the two countries yet 😆 lol..just the bocked account in German visa requirements. Majority of the European countries is better than canada Economically and infrastructure etc. Canada that couldn't produced a shot of COVID-19 vaccine during COVID-19 pandemic and now.yet studying health care related courses is competitive for international students in canada compared to domestic students..those with pr and citizenship even the education system itself is questionable in some institutions. |

Hi Everyone PLEASE HELP My Sister’s School is starting on Sept 3rd. She got passport request on 26 August, she submitted on 27th and she have her stamped passport with her right now. The issue is that she already booked her flight to canada for Sept 1st to land on Sept 2nd, but her introduction letter is not yet on her Gc key account. I know that letter is very important and immigration officials ask for it on arrival. Please what can be done in this situation, or will they consider her on arrival being that her resumption is at the corner. |

Good Day everyone, please what is IRCC current exchange rate for the naira. Thanks |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Bobomaigida: 9:10am On Aug 30 |
Kenny4real68: Not a big deal, she should have a laptop ready to download it when she gets to the border, also she can send a webform for it. But all is good, I wonder how much she paid for flight ticket considering the short time she had to prepare. |

If you have the money, why not repeat the test or you can resend webform to different local offices before deadline. Eckimalu: |

I've received my GCMS notes and see what is says. For context, I used both brother and Mom. My brother works in the US as a software engineer and my mom had 11M in her account. The total POF was more than I needed by at least 10k CAD.

Jimin95: So sorry brother, please I have a few questions: 1. Did you pay full tuition fee or just deposit? 2. When did you apply? 3. College (Diploma) or Uni (Masters)? Guys, is it really compulsory one shows proof of funds of personal financial establishment, especially when one has already pointed out that they have a sponsor(s)? Seems a little like nitpicking to me. Go again bro! 1 Like |

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Semtu(m): 3:37am On Aug 31 |
chrisifeanyi: Study permit or PGWP is not a path to PR. With the current express entry cutoff, a Canadian degree plus Canadian work experience is not even enough. So do not put all your hopes of PR on the study route. The only way to get PR nowadays is through provincial nomination. Express entry scores are now so unreasonably high. |
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by Semtu(m): 3:52am On Aug 31 |
For those coming to study for the purpose of getting a PR, I will advice you first go to the Express Express CRS tool and calculate what your future score would be with after earning a Canadian degree. If your score would up to 520 to 530, then I would advice you forget about it and not waste your time and money going through the study permit process. At the moment, the average cutoff score is an around 510 to 520. Now this score keeps increasing yearly so don’t expect it to come down. If you begin your study this year in Canada, you will spend about two years studying then you graduate. After you are done studying, the minimum cutoff could have climbed to 530 which still puts you behind and unable to get a PR. So my advice to everyone is that study permit is not a road to PR. Do your calculations well, see what your score would be after studying. If you feel it would be enough, then go for it. If not you only end up wasting your time and money. Instead of coming to Canada to waste millions for a degree that does not guarantee PR, why not enroll in a French program in Nigeria and learn the French language? The cutoff for people fluent in French is just around 380. You can learn French in few months and pass the TEF test. Then apply for PR from Nigeria, that in my opinion is the best route for anyone who really wants to migrate to Canada. Learning French would not only help for PR, it would also help in getting a job. There are lots of jobs in Canada for people who are bilingual. Jobs that even the Canadian degree would not get you. 5 Likes 1 Share |

I assume you are taking an MSc. You can use a third party for SWOP, and the proof of funds is not as much as that of a study permit; however, you must explain why the person wants to spend thousands of CAD to sponsor your family. Has he been supporting the family before now? What is the relationship? Is he financially stable? Don’t neglect other aspects of the application, for example, demonstrating the genuineness of the relationship with your wife and home ties. Nauttyprof: |
