@ositadima1 Let me drop my 2cents. Generally speaking, the oil business is a massive gamble. Here's what I mean: the current figures used are all estimates. Secondly, any company with license in the E&P has sufficient resources to serve as collateral for loans. (Even Nigeria used oil to secure loans). The profitability index of each sector is what each company needs to look into. I don't think funding will be an issue IF OandO wants to secure either WR or PHR (though I feel they will rather build a smaller capacity refinery from scratch because of the moribund nature of those refineries). Aside loans, they can raise funds through an IPO or RI which I believe will be OVERSUBSCRIBED... ositadima1: |

KarlTom: Okay ooo, thanks. You are indirectly saying that ''anything is possible'' and Oando could revert to the midstream/dowstream business |

KarlTom: Why did Agip agree to sell for just $783 million, not even reaching a billion, if the asset promises substantial returns? Were they under some juju when they signed it away to Oando? Also, it's more cheaper to build a new refinery rather than purchasing those existing ones, same with that Ajaokuta steel. You'll end up sinking a significant amount of money just to bring them up to functionality and modern standards. Take your time and conduct thorough research. 1 Like |

I dropped the ENI FY20323 report here some days ago (I will search for it again). I asked myself the bolded and took time to search for answers... NB: Mobil, Shell and co are also selling some of their assets. I will bring this up again AFTER the deals are completed... I am in the industry... ositadima1: |

KarlTom: Add the Nigerian(Government) factor to your analysis of the refineries . Is it really difficult to make them work or it has been so because some people in NNpc have made it their work-chop? |

Choiceguy: I am only being objective, separating the entity Oando and its business prospects from all the politics and baseless rumours. Once I achieve the objective of my investment in Oando shares, I am done. And I move to FGN Treasury Bills. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 3:21pm On Aug 30 |
KarlTom: I downloaded it and reviewed it that day, but I didn’t see where the revenue from Nigerian operations was stated. Ok, aside from that, you might be thinking their focus on green energy explains the sale, but it still doesn’t justify selling so cheaply if it’s worth more. Hopefully, Oando and Tinubu will manage it better than the Italians, but that remains to be seen. |

godlyguy: I was told similar things sir about Seplat; that it will surely drop, when Nestle was far more appealing than Seplat. Today I feel that I should have gone with my gut feeling on Seplat even though just like Oando, things happening seem like abracadabra. For Oando, I already have sufficient units from the days of 3.20 - 5.40 hence no matter how much it falls, I can't run at a loss so I will weather the storm. 1 Like |

KarlTom: That is how una dey fail exam. Did I tell you that Oando race don end or you didn't understand the sentence . OANDO will go places but not in a straight line. I meant the mini bull that Oando elephantic movement triggered in some stocks, the moment he stopped, almost all of them stopped and some turned back. But Oando was still able to labour back to the terminal line. I dey in one of two others stocks that moved with Oando, and now they have stopped. From this point, Oando might continue alone. OANDO is also now set for real JIJO 1 Like |

godlyguy: The issues that pulled back Oando were the various boardroom squabbles, shareholders and SEC issues. Right now, in terms of the industry, oil reserves and productive assets, Seplat and Oando are virtually contemporaries . Don't be surprised to see Oando going for four figures like Seplat, in the long term. |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by designking: 3:54pm On Aug 30 |
Oando has reached the hard levels where only strong fundamentals can pull it through. I will be waiting for the deeps to ride it. There will certainly be pullbacks and profit taking this coming week and prices may stagnate around ₦60 - ₦85. There is a court case coming up soon and also their earnings report. Anything is still possible with Oando. I already have 50,000 units locked down and will be adding more as it hits support levels. |
