Even if you hold a PGWP, SOWP or Bridging permit as a foreigner, you would still struggle to get a job based on 10% quota assigned to foreign workers in every Canadian organization talk less of you having Visitor visa. I have accepted my fate that I will hold my visit visa until my spouse completes her course and get a PGWP and a full time job for me to convert. I know there are no short cut. Canada is not Nigeria that you can beat system. Even if you do, you can be caught tommorrow and pay the penalty. 2 Likes |

When one road closes another one opens. This isn't the first policy change in Canada and it would not be the last. Maybe the new policy will be better than the one they just stopped. Don't forget PR for caregiver on arrival is still yet to be unfolded. We go exploit that one too before then go abolish am. noeloge82: 2 Likes |

Pjoe238: The caregiver scheme requires a full time job offer, which is the most difficult aspect of the program requirement . Currently, thousands of students and residents have graduated from the PSW program and cannot even find a full time job inside Canada . Do you think you will get a job offer from outside of Canada for this program when the program itself is not even certain to start? Considering the current job scarcity in Canada, please be realistic and face the reality on the ground! 8 Likes |

Pjoe238: In 2023, IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) plans to welcome more than 465,000 immigrants to Canada. The target for 2024 is set at 485,000 new permanent residents (PRs). In both 2025 and 2026, Canada aims to welcome an additional 500,000 immigrants each year. However, Due to current harsh economic reality and challenges facing Canadian on Monday, August 26, 2024, Immigration Minister Marc Miller announced that the federal government is "looking at a number of options" to re-evaluate permanent resident levels in Canada. Miller emphasized that any upcoming changes will not be "cosmetic" but "significant." He stated, "Now it's time to take a look at them and put real options on the table for the prime minister and for other cabinet ministers to look at, and not cosmetic changes simply to deal with public opinion. Real significant change." Miller's comments were made during an interview with CTV News Chief Political Correspondent Vassy Kapelos while attending the Liberal cabinet retreat in Halifax. In line with these considerations, the Canada federal government announced on Monday that there would be stricter rules to reduce the low-wage stream of temporary foreign workers after a surge in recent years to address the post-COVID labour shortage. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also indicated that more changes to immigration policy, particularly concerning permanent residents, could be expected this fall. A possible reduction in permanent resident levels could represent a major policy shift for the Trudeau government. Canada federal election is next year so surely more brutal immigration changes ahead ! 2 Likes |

funkyy598:what about he who has a skill like coding language in demand? Will i be given a wp on arrival |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by funkyy598: 11:27pm On Aug 29 |
Sultty: Canada has a specific system called Express Entry for skilled workers, including those in high-demand fields such as programming, web development, and cloud engineering. When Canada needs highly skilled professionals, such as web developers,JavaScript Developer, frontend engineers, or cloud engineers, it typically selects candidates from the Express Entry pool. In this system, applicants are ranked based on their qualifications, work experience, education, and other factors. However, even after being selected from the pool and obtaining permanent resident status, many newcomers still struggle to find work in Canada, particularly in the highly competitive tech field. Currently, many skilled tech professionals are looking for work in Canada, even with their work permit status as residents. Therefore, simply arriving in Canada as a visitor and claiming to be a coding expert will not grant you a work permit! 4 Likes |

Damn it,,,,, And we warned many of them here that relocated on visit visa last year and early this year o, all they do is to tag us enemy of progress. Relocating to Canada with visit visa and even student visa is not entirely a wise decision at all. Best bet is PR straight, to me Canada isn't stable yet. Orjohn really tried abeg, but many keep attacking him 5 Likes |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Jeboy(m): 1:18am On Aug 30 |
Yes those that landed before Aug 28 with Visit visa amd applied for LMIA based on job offer will be excluded from the new Law. The update mentions that as exception. But the truth is how feasible is such process for LMIA when it takes a long process by administration and bottleneck not also undermining the huge cost involved? Taal17: 1 Like |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Jeboy(m): 1:26am On Aug 30 |
His case is not the exemption here because according to him he wants to...he hasn't applied for LMIA yet. The exemption here is for people who have arrived Canada earlier with Visit Visa and then applied for LMIA before 28th of August 2024. So the question the dude should ask himself is: 1) Has he landed in Canada with a TRV before 28th August 2024 and has his legal status active? 2) Has he also applied for LMI!A (Closed work) permit with the active TRV he came in with before Aug 28th 2024? His response needs to be Yes for both before he can say it applies to him. affoncad: |

I submitted my Canada VV on the 22nd of August and my US VV was denied of 29th August. Is it necessary that I should inform the IRCC about my US denial. I informed the IRCC about the previous denial |

Good morning. Please i will like to ask how much is canada visiting visa fee now in Naira. Thank you for your kind response. |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Jeboy(m): 2:48am On Aug 30 |
If you don't I am not sure you will be penalized because the US refusal didn't happen before your application submission. Why should you update them on something that doesn't give you any advantage? My thought though. Biamoz: 2 Likes |

Biamoz:there's no need to inform them. This isn't misrepresenting because it happened after you submitted it, not before. 2 Likes |

Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by clayfounder: 10:31pm On Aug 30 |
I am new here and need some advice. I applied for a Canadian visit visa in January 2024 and completed my biometrics in February 2024, but my application was refused yesterday. What can I do to reapply myself and increase my chances of getting the visa approved? The agent who assisted me has asked for another payment to repackage my application and make it stronger for approval because Canada has increased the visa requirements.

Mr Derende, Me I applied since last yr November using an agent till now no response from Canadian embassy as am typing to you, and anytime I talked to the agent he tells me to be a little bit patience.. am also getting fed up already. Derende: |
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by affoncad: 7:53am On Aug 31 |
mblarry1: I suspect the agent might be hiding something from you because the majority of applicants who applied since october/november last year for canada visit visa have already received a response from IRCC, and most were refused, especially first-time applicants with no travel history or family in Canada. If you have your biometric paper with you, I would advise you to apply for GCMS notes, as you can do that without the agent, and you will see the actual status of your application. I pray and hope it's not a 5-year ban that the agent is hiding from you! 2 Likes |

Jeboy: Portable just returned from the USA after multiple trips to Europe. As an artist in the performing arts, he is under the International Mobility Program, which allows him to work in Canada without a work permit since is stay is for a short visit based on music. The 10-year Canadian visit visa he received automatically includes work authorization as a performing artist . 5 Likes 1 Share |
