She is perhaps if not definitely the most privileged Nigerian woman. Her husband, Musa Yar'Adua, was a Minister for Lagos in the First Republic and held the chieftaincy title of Matawalle (custodian of the royal treasury) of the Katsina Emirate.

Her sons,

Shehu Musa Yar'Adua GCON (( 5 March 1943 – 8 December 1997) was a Nigerian general and politician who was the de facto vice president of Nigeria as Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters when Nigeria was under military rule from 1976 to 1979. He was a prominent politician during the later transition from military to civilian rule in the late 1980s and into the 1990s.

Umaru Musa Yar'Adua GCFR ((l16 August 1951[1] – 5 May 2010) was a Nigerian politician who served as the president of Nigeria from 2007 until his death in May 2010

The resemblance of mother and son is intensely striking. It's the end of another earthly cycle.

The Yar'Aduas are ORIGINALLY of Niger Republic Tuareg paternal descent (known as Buzu in colloquial terms) for those who don't know. They are NOT of Fulani stock like some erroneously think. The U.S.-based college (Uni) academic, Farooq Kperogi also affirmed this fact in an article he wrote a few years ago.

By the way not everyone in the North being Muslim or Christian was privileged to live long. Not as if they did something wrong

God did not favor her anything. Nigeria's balkanized system favored her and her Fulani family simple.

If you want to know those God favored, you should be looking at Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's mother, my mother and several other mothers who started from extreme poverty and without benefitting from the corrupt, nepotistic Nigerian system, their children rose from grass to grace through honest hardwork, divine grace without benefitting from the corrupt, lopsided Nigerian political system designed to favor certain sections of the country while depriving millions a right to quality life.

So don't count her as those favored by God, she was favored by Nigeria's corrupt, balkanized, nepotistic system simple. Don't bring God into it

The only good thing he did was to reduce fuel pump price

He took bad decisions against the growth of the economy.

Yaradua reversed most of the developmental policies of the Obasanjo regime may be because he did not want to be seen as tied to OBJ's apron string.

He refused to hand over power to then Vice president GEJ. He preferred to die on the throne.

That fuel price he reduced is what is controlling the economy of Nigeria. The present president refuse to reduce the price of petrol and everybody is suffering for it both young and old.
We are living below poverty line because of the present president who refused to reduce the fuel price.
Yaradua reduced it without pressuring him.
May his soul rest in peace.

Now this is it.

You really used the right words. She is one of the Nigerian women favored by Nigeria's corrupt, balkanized nepotistic political system.

But it still came at a huge price.

For a woman to bury her husband, bury her two prominent sons who died controversial deaths in their prime is not a childsplay, and no woman ever wishes or pray for that.

Don't mind them. They are hypocrites. Everyone is the best president Nigeria never had grin. People with short memory.
Yaradua that was too slow and lack political wheel to make some good policies. Someone that every political analyst during his time said he was too weak to be a president. Nigeria was not moving an inch forward and corruption was equally rife due to PDP ideology. Minimum wage during his time was #9500 or so, it was GEJ who moved it to #18,000, and Buhari later moved it to #30,000. Yaradua that it was his wife who was ruling Nigeria while he was alive and they refuse to hand over to GEJ even when he was incapacitated. The same person under which Nigeria economy was in comatose is now the best president Nigeria never had grin grin
