Dear Jagaban lover,

What is the progress update on Tinubu’s eight point agenda he promised Nigerians in 2023? This is over one year now. How far?

1. food security;
2. poverty eradication;
3. growth,
4. job creation;
5. access to capital;
6. inclusion;
7. rule of law; and
8. fighting corruption

All of these problems have been present in one shape or another since independence.

Infact, one of the reasons given by those who carried out the first military coup in 1963 (61 years ago!) was corruption, lack of inclusion, poor governance etc.

Since then, under Messrs Gowon, Obasanjo (military), Shagari (read about Umaru Dikko), Babangida, Abacha, Obasanjo (civilian), Jonathan, Buhari, did those problems get better or worse.

If all those governments couldn't solve the problems, it is unrealistic to expect a government that is less than one and a half years to turn things around in a dramatic fashion.

It is never too early to criticise any government, but we have to be realistic. We need to be patient.

Even at that, there is no guarantee that any government will make a dramatic difference to the situation in Nigeria. If it was that easy, previous governments will have done it.

Nigeria is about 65 years old. Egypt is more than 2000 years old, and it is not better than Nigeria. It lives on a lot of handouts from rich Arab countries and the USA.

India nko. Pakistan, Bangladesh, and most countries in countries? They are all struggling to transform their countries.

It is simply not easy. That is the reality.

No he didn't. He was using the big, standard one that was later decertified, leaving Tinubu to fly around in that tiny jet.

I doubt that small jet can even reach China before the wind blows it out of the sky. undecided

Decertified by whom.

What about the 50 million jobs promised between 2023 to 2026? How many has Tinubu and his government created so far?

1. The President himself did not make that remark.

The report in the link '...Mrs Anet said the government was targeting 50 million jobs...'

Mrs Doris Anet, who I found out to be the Minister for trade and industry minister was the one that made that statement, not the President.

2. While some ministers are fond of overly optimistic promises, you cant credit all comments by ministers to the President.

3. Also, she might be taking an 8 year perspective, in which case, 50 million jobs, although unlikely is not impossible. That's about 4.5 million per year. In a country of 220 million, it is possible.

4. If a Minister say, the 'government will create jobs', it doesn't mean the government will set up factories to employ 50 million people.

It simply means the government will administer the economy in a way that the economy will create 50 million tailors, lecturers, lawyers, hairdressers, brick layers and so on.

But of course, many, including you, thought the Minister said the government would itself employ 50 million create.

It is the private sector that will create most jobs, not the government.

I don't know who Mr Anet is, but one thing I know is that he is not the President.

Ah… the denials are coming in thick and fast. So Mr Anet woke up one day at random to set job creation targets without Tinubu’s input or approval?

🤣🤣🤣 you guys ehn

So you’re telling us Anite lied that “Tinubu is targeting 50 million jobs”?

Btw, I love how you quietly switched President Tinubu in Anita’s remark with “the government”. I saw what you did there.

Nonsense. So the president can quickly acquired a new jet while many millions of Nigerians are dying of hunger.

He also abandoned is country where millions are sleeping at fuel stations due to scarcity and he has never release any press statement as the president and minister of petroleum.

He should continue flying around. Mtchew

Someone will always be paid to look foolish in Nigeria. We found one of them here. If you see the plane the king of England travels in what are you going to say? He shares his plane with the troops. A whole king with a trillion economy........

Err....Not sure what bush you crawled out of but NO, King Charles ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT ''share his plane with the troops''.

And while you're there kissing white butt, remember that ''humble, angelic King Charles'' stores thousands of your bronze statues worth hundreds of millions of pounds, which his army looted from Benin after bombarding and burning down the city in 1897.

This is a lame defense. If your first instinct is to absolve Tinubu from this responsibility then you have tacitly admitted Tinubu’s government has failed at keeping its promises to Nigerians.

Again I’ll ask you, did Anite come out to set the 50 million jobs target without Tinubu’s input or approval?

Read the screenshot below slowly before you respond.

Where are the jobs Tinubu’s government promised to create out of the 50 million target so far?

OPTICS count for a lot in geopolitics, international relations and diplomacy.

You can't just arrive on a State Visit to China with a tiny old jet if you are the President of Nigeria, especially with South Africa's huge plane parked right next to yours.

It sends the wrong message diplomatically.

You are clearly being paid to be foolish that plane picks up the prime minister, the King and Soldiers when necessary. How you want to compare a strong economy like UK to Nigeria is weak, cheap and more than shocking weird.

Bandits are playing with Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC) which they captured from the Nigerian Army and the same bandits kidnapped and murdered a whole Emir in cold blood, but yes, let's continue pretending all is well until Nigeria's debtors seize this one as well.

And to remedy that, your president should fly around in a tiny old jet to China and other nations, and not a decent, befitting plane, because you reason like a PRIMARY 2 PUPIL.

He's a statist, who believes that the Presidency/govt should embody/symbolize the nation.

Nigeria should kukuma buy Airbus for all politician occupying any office. Sounds good ? grin
