It’s not peculiar to South Africa, they just happen to be Xenophobic. When a British or American man hears the name Chidinma or Adekunle, it immediately registers in his brain that you not part of them. Poor gal.. She's been through a lot  I can relate because I am facing the same issue here in Anambra. I have a flat head, I am fair skinned and I speak Igbo well down to proverbs. Sad…they learnt bigotry, hate for fellow black people and bitterness from Agbados like akiolu, remi tinubu, olumo , onanuga, erewa, fani kayode , Omokri jeered on by people who are in habit of going on media to spread hate speeches but thankfully the Canadian police have made all of us aware that hate speech and bigotry is a criminal offense and there is no statute of limitations on it ( no time limit for prosecution of such crimes) and can be arrested for that once you step feet on their soil. Baby girl, a winner of any feat in Nigeria is a winner on the entire continent . Leave them alone and move on. I've never heard them play any south african song in Europe or US before but I've heard Davido songs along the miami beach road in a club to which whites were dancing and sweating, likewise that of wizkid in Paris.
