Good morning gurus in the house.

Please, I need help to confirm if 40 million naira is enough for proof of fund for undergraduate studies after payment of school fees?

Secondly, is it okay to make payment for school fees from the US for someone in Nigeria?

Thank you

As at today N40m is 33,803 in CAD, whilst the fund can cover for first year living expenses and other costs, you will need to show how subsequent years of the programme will be financed and sources of the funds.

Thanks for your response, however, do you have idea of their policy for in-person or representative submission or pick of passports.

No idea of their policy but in the message sent to me to notify me that my passport has been dispatched to the courier, it was mentioned that "in-person collection of stamped passport is suspended till further notice".

Hope this helps.

Ok, I understand. Thanks alot.

Doing courses like this that feed in demand professions is very good, what you have to bear in mind is to know your exit options from study to permanent residence.

Even express entry is not a guarantee for PR!it is going AWOL

I totally get where you're coming from. However, you need to understand that the current situation with the study permit pathway for international students, especially from countries like Nigeria, is indeed quite challenging. The financial strain due to the devaluation of the naira against the dollar makes funding education abroad a real struggle without relying on public funds.

The significant 100% rise in living expenses from 10,000CAD to 20,600CAD has further deterred many individuals from opting for study permits.

Moreover, the restriction on spouses of international students pursuing college diplomas from working adds to the frustration surrounding study permits. Why would someone invest significant amounts of money in their education if their spouse cannot work to help with expenses? How many individuals actually graduated with a 2.1 to qualify for a direct master's program? Even if they do, they still face the challenges of a 100% increase in living costs and the depreciation of our currency.

Considering all these factors, opting for the Express Entry pathway for permanent residence appears to be more stable and practical choice. The Category-based selections offer a more reliable and direct route compared to the uncertainties and limitations associated with study permits. In my view, if you can successfully pass the IELTS or TEF examination, it might be worthwhile to explore the Express Entry route for more stability and enhanced prospects of obtaining permanent residency than study permit.

It's great that we are sharing our individual perspective on this matter. While each pathway has its pros and cons, but I would choose the permanent residence route over and over, than the study permit route at this time.

Wishing you all the best in your endeavors, and it's nice to reconnect after a while. Take care!

I still think the fastest and cheapest way to PR is by learning French. I know of someone who took the TEF test within just 4 months of learning French and got CLB 7, the test is so easy if you have that basic knowledge. A serious person with no prior knowledge of French who starts learning it today can be fluent enough to take the TEF test in 6 months or less. Compare that with spending around 40 million and two years for a Canadian degree that does not even guarantee PR unless you are lucky enough to find a professional job which is increasingly becoming unlikely because of the job shortages in the country.

And even if French specific draw stops, you still get 50 point for EE and you also would probably qualify for nomination in Quebec and other provinces.
This is definetly not true, in as much as French really helps, 4, 6 or 8 months is not possible if you're looking at CLB 7 or that extra 50 points. If you're looking for point of less than 10 then sure, 4 months might do something

Dear @BillQ,

I recently came across your comment on Nairaland where you mentioned my name in association with fraudulent activities. I want to set the record straight and address this head-on.

Firstly, I want to express my surprise and disappointment at the accusations made against me. As an individual committed to integrity and transparency in all my dealings, being labeled as a scammer is not only offensive but also damaging to my reputation.

I would like to clarify that I have no involvement in any fraudulent activities, including the situation you mentioned with "Justmellow." If there are any misunderstandings or issues you've with "Justmellow," it's not linked to me nor do I have any connection with "GCMSWriters" on Instagram or Telegram as your previous posts mentioned.

In light of these accusations, I kindly request that you provide any evidence or specific instances where my actions may have led to such allegations. Transparency is key in situations like this, and I believe that a fair assessment of the facts will demonstrate my innocence.

Please if you've got a problem with a transaction, deal with "Justmellow", Don't drag my name into it. Let's be fair and sort things out where they belong. Thank you!

You're in the UK, any reason why you want to go to Canada instead of just settling in the UK? What you have is more than enough for you to study in Canada. But please sir, convert that your 20m to USD or GBP. Stop risking your money in naira.

If you are using GCMS writers, beware of @JMG12 (Just Mellow). Heโ€™s a scammer and a criminal. Iโ€™ve reported this issue to Seun Osewa on Twitter.

Only take advice from this platform! Anyone claiming they got their visa through recommendations here is likely the same person who created the account to praise themselves and get more jobs.

If the owner of GCMS writers is @JMG12, he is a scammer from the pit of hell! If @JMG12 isnโ€™t Just Mellow, then he must come forward and debunk this news.

People travel on this platform without even having the funds that I have, yet this idiot claims heโ€™s a guru. I am in pain because of what he did to my application.

First application was withdrawn by IRCC because of PAL, and he says heโ€™s a guru!

1) I have money for my tuition fees for two years.
2) I have $20,635 for one year's living expenses and an extra 7.5 million naira to buy GIC, which I told this fraud named GCMS writers. I was deceived into calling him for 30 minutes and paying for his worthless time.

One day, I will meet you face to face. This world is a small place.

I didnโ€™t see my SOP before you submitted it, and I paid almost 2 million naira for your services. You are a bastard!

After spending 5 million naira to travel from where I live to make this possible, and all the running around I did in December and January.

No problem. Just wait. Unless you come on here with another handle to deceive people or I am deleted from Nairaland or this earth, I will know it's you.

Bastard.
Why you will pay someone 2m for ordinary visa. Something you can do by yourself. Go to his address. He's not in Canada. Track him to Benin.

From what I see. The two of you are friends. Help @BillQ get his money back from your friend. You can not be walking with a scammer and you say they should not associate you and him. Who are you deceiving? You know about the money. You know everything but because you want your share you didn't say anything. They now called you and him scammer and you're now saying they should not call you. The two of you better return his 2 million naira

I can see that my name is still in your previous post after you discovered that you confused me with another individual, JustMellow. I want to clarify that I have no involvement in the matters discussed in those posts nor have any connection to the issues mentioned.

I kindly request that you take immediate action to remove my name from all relevant previous posts by modifying all the posts you mistook me for the said person. It is a straightforward request and easy to do, and I expect prompt attention to this matter as the content inaccurately associates me with something I have no part in.

Dear all,
Kindly assist with an advise
My wife has finished her program and will be applying for PGWP.
our 2 kids have been with her in Canada and they have Visitors record, while I only have Visitors visa which I go and stay with them once a while and each time I go I stay 6 months.

My question now is, as she is applying for her 3 year PGWP, can I apply along for SOWP for myself and study permit for the two kids(3 & 5) respectively??

We have a total of $150k CAD which is in 3 different accounts, 2(1 Canada and 1 Nigeria) of the accounts in her name and one in my name in Nigeria.
Thanks
