1. Reducing subsidy cost by 50% is essentially partial removal of subsidy.....which is what Tinubu and buhari have been doing for ages, infact that is what has been happening for a very long time

2.Also, you cannot promote domestic refining if there is no profit in it...and a 50% removal of subsidy is still not going to make refining petrol profitable. At the end, fuel would still be sold below the production cost...and eventially it would become unsustainable...at which point Obi would be faced with what tinubu is facing now....either remove subsidy totally, or do another 50% removal.

Essentially, Obi is admitting Buhari and tinubu were right....me I am convinced they are all wrong.

At the end, Nigerian politicans are all the same. They dare not remove subsidy totally because to do so means they would lose power.
Great points you made but what do you think should be done differently apart from strict monitoring of imported petroleum products.

Stop disgracing yourself, lazy youth. People like you voted out of stupidity and complete foolishness, thinking that you were punishing Obj. Today, you are the beggars going around for transport fares and food after voting for someone who after all the years was never ready.

Why not tell us about the poverty level in Osun, Oyo, Ekiti, Ogun and Ondo states? What did the governors who served at the time of Obi do to reduce the massive poverty index in those states?

“Na statistics we go chop”, yet all you do, all of you, is to use statistics to confuse yourselves.

You goons should argue ove what the tiff who is the president is dong instead.

Peter Obi is not hungry, he can afford petrol, he can afford anything he wants. But can you fools afford a bag of rice?

Is September 2022 more recent than January 2023 when it was just 1month to the election he lost to Tinubu, and he made the below vow to remove subsidy immediately?

The day Nigerians decide that they cannot live without fuel subsidy, Peter Obi who believes in subsidy removal on the 1st day in office would not be their choice, so stop trying to force it.

No consumer would deliberately purchase an expired product that Peter Obi represents.

Unlike Peter Obi, Omoyele Sowore vowed not to remove subsidy, but only about 14,000 Nigerians voted for him, the least of which came from the SouthEast who preferred to vote their tribal brother at almost 100%, so no votes left for any other candidate to score in the SouthEast.

22million Nigerians voted for Tinubu, Atiku, and Obi who all vowed to remove subsidy, instead of Sowore.

Elections do have consequences.

how is what obi said "complete utter nonsense"?

how many economists endorsed tinubus plans?

what are tinubus plans and what is the impact of his plans?

What is reduce subsidy by 50%? How do you reduce subsidy by half in an economy like Nigeria that suffers from inflation. Most importantly, the price of petrol is set internationally. The price is never stable. Just look at the price of crude oil. It could sell for $50/barrel today, and $70/barrel in a years time. How then can you reduce 50% of the subsidy.

Rather, the right thing is to completely remove the subsidy by deregulating its price as done with AGO and dual purpose kerosene.

Tinubu wants to deregulate the price but he is facing backlash. He is trying to reduce the subsidy in increments, something that Obi would have to do.

It is best it deregulates the price once and for all.

I for allow this because it’s alright 3rd page deep but if you still get to see this just know that this person is a propagandist. Go and read up Peter Obi’s leadership in Anambra state. Till this day we remain the best governor of all governors his regime. He’s best governor in Nigeria till this day when it comes to salaries and gratuity. Any bad news you hear of Peter Obi anywhere in the world is a fabricated story by his haters. Only good record and you’ll be shocked to ask is he a saint? That’s how we see it. 1st I’m the whole of African politician to say public “go and verify” his antecedence and if you find anything wanting in his name he’ll drop his political ambition, and till now no one has come up with one allegation of misappropriation or embezzlement of public funds.

As you’re reading this, Peter Obi rejected everything due for past leaders of any level in Nigeria and that’s how it had always been everywhere or firm he ever worked in.

Today, you’re hearing words like “reducing cost of governance” from “consumption to production” “investment in human capital” etc. You’re hearing these words today because of Peter Obi. In Nigeria today there’s a massive interest in politics today because of someone like Peter that started telling Young People to take back their country, that it is their future they the ruling class are toiling with, you can clearing tell that Peter Obi can never say, snatch and run with it.

Anyone that knows Anambra state before Peter Obi came on board should know that Obi isn’t a weakling and just as Alex today whom he single handedly raised his hands is doing in Abia what Obi did in Anambra.

Don’t Anambra is the state that had over 5 governors within 8 years, a sitting governor was kidnapped with many strong forces yet Obi took over and return the and set the state on motion through education for both young and old.

Make Una mind wetin una dey talk o Obi no be anybody’s age mate for governance

Ask yourself why Peter Obi is their nightmare ?

He was once a governor. Before he took over, Anambra was among the most unsecured state in the country. He tackled insecurity head on. Whatever model he used them, he will use now

I know you know the Truth but can you tell us what kind of insecurity was in Anambra state then. Was there any sit at home? Was IPOB kanu and ekpa in full gear?

Secondly, to talk is cheap as you know. Critical analysis of his above statement shows a completely empty statement. Reduced subsidy by 50%? How much was subsidy per litre before? It's Not known. How many million of litres was being used by Nigerian and how many being smugguled out?.how did he plan to fight the oil cabals and NNPC when he ran away from small crises in LP.
Finally how long will that take knowing fully well that the previous administration of buhari did not budget for 2023 subsidy and he will definitely start from ground zero as it's a usual norm in Nigeria.

Pls mention only one Landmark project infrastructure executed in his 8 years that remains legacy? Nothing. No Erosion controlled, no airport, no railway, no power station, no refinery etc
So how do someone show capacity to build or solve problems?

This man should channels is energy into another thing because is easier said than done. Tinubu said more than this Nigeria bigger and complex than the way you are looking at it, the cabal and thief are everywhere in the government, yar adua and Jonathan would have being the best government we have because their intents are good when coming into power but everything was cut short because of corruption.
To the best of my knowledge insecurity cannot be tackle same way Corruption cannot be eradicated. My reason, who and who are the bandits,
what is the governors doing,
who is the chief security of the sate, local government,
what are the mechanism put in place to tackle the insecurity,
what is the relationship between local security and the state etc.

What happened to the security vote allocations, who and who are taking it,
Do you know that the people who are supposed to secure us are corrupt, a gun runner will never pray for peace in the society same thing applys to the corrupt people in-charge of security vote allocation
