The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) have changed their tactics in the Kursk region, according to Major General Apty Alaudinov, commander of the Akhmat special forces.

"The UAF personnel are being brought from a distance, unloaded, and quickly try to retreat to avoid entering the zone of direct impact from Russian forces. In most areas, the enemy is actively digging in," Alaudinov stated.

I think you confused rank with insignia. Also Russia doesn't have the same military ranks as NATO countries. For example Russia has a rank called "colonel general". That is what it is to be an indigenous military, not a foreign created military like the Nigerian military.
