You're are the second person I'm hearing this convert to US dollar from within the last two weeks... My major fear now is, what if government decides to freeze the money in one's domiciliary account or they start determining the rate at which you'll be able to withdraw your money, or say you can't transfer from one domiciliary account to another, that one go come be another problem o... I think they once did something like that sometimes ago

I wish there's another way one can save in dollars, aside using the domiciliary account

Hold your dollars in cash...Keep it in a safe place where no one knows.....even if the bastard decides to freeze dorm accounts, you are covered....

Preach!!!!!!

adonainana:

No disrespect You lack any economical foresight. The higher the exchange rate the more astronomical the prices of building materials Would be.

Infact imagine buying 10,000 naira for a bunch of nails

In the end you will be frustrated and you will think builders in Nigeria are trying to scam you

Even down to painting and wiring, you will almost won’t believe how much expensive and even workmanship would be

Finally when it’s time to rent your house out after completion

If you dare put an expensive price for rent age. Bird won’t even fly inside ur compound more less a human being coming to live there

So you now see how a bad exchange rate is bad for everybody

For investors, entrepreneurs, business owners
Everybody

Nobody won’t be touched by a bad exchange rate

Nawaoooo, Tinubu economy policies keep destroying the economy more. By December it will increased more. It’s only remote workers that are enjoying the economy by cashing out in foreign currencies seriously.

It is important that we move beyond constantly referencing the Jonathan era. Clinging to that comparison can be both misleading and unproductive.

The truth is, while the current administration and its predecessor have failed to meet the expectations of Nigerians, this does not imply that the Jonathan administration was a success either.
In reality, it is like comparing the exam results of three students: one scored 19%, another 10%, and the last 2%.

Ultimately, they all failed, and none of them deserves praise. We must acknowledge that failure is failure, regardless of the degree. What truly matters is holding leadership accountable and striving for progress rather than engaging in fruitless comparisons.

At this point ... you gather as much Naira as possible and buy as much US as possible ....cash. Let's say you presently have N17OK in cash .... you buy US$100 on the black market. In two weeks time the Naira is likely to drop to N2000/1. If you convert the US back to Naira....you now have N200K instead of the N170K if you didn't convert. Now you'll be able to cushion inflation since you have an extra N30K. By the end of November...early December demand for $ will decrease since merchants will not be buying as much and returnees will be bringing in $ as they troop home for Christmas . This will cause the Naira to gain. So back to that N170K converted to $100. By midway November the dollar should peak.... N2500/1. At this point you sell the $100 .... now you have N250K ....instead of the N170K you started out with. Hold on to the N250K until the beginning of the year when there is no demand for US and the rate may then be N1500/1. At this low point ...you can then convert the N250K to US.... which will now bring you about $160....and you sit and wait for the Naira to drop again. Devaluation is a thing that can make you broke real fast....your life savings that you could've splurged on a Range Rover may...may...just may be able to buy one okada .... Nigeria used. Before this free fall era..... the rich ....the big businessmen ... the doctors ...the lawyers ...the politicians ....the pastors .....the middle class ....the civil servants ...bankers ... landlords ....the importers exporters ... the poor or lower class ...the street vendors ...touts ... drivers ...labourers .....three distinct classes. Look around ...how many classes do you see? Two ...rich and poor . The middle class is already wiped out Devaluation is more serious and devastating than we think and not easily or quickly reversible...is like a life sore. Amen?

How can a person that was cynical of Tinubu "enjoy" being right. You still have to face the reality and affect of inflation. Being "right" does not offer protection from suffering. I'm quite certain majority will take being "wrong" in exchange for government policies and economy working

See the APC Tinubu and Buhari that told nigerians at 2014 during Jonathan administration...if 216 naira to a dollar was ok for nigerians ...that if you do not like 216 naira to a dollar that you should vote for change..APC change...and now the incompetent APC and Tinubu it's 2,000 naira to a dollar..it's a pity... renewed shege everywhere
Re: Naira Nears N2000/dollar Exchange Rate At Black Market by ufotunang: 5:11pm On Sep 08
I have said it nothing the CBN governor can do to appreciate the naira against the dollars.. that the solution is for Nigeria to be a producing economy...less Importation and
more exportation and nigerians should value, buy , patronize what they have in their own country...the love and over demand for foreign things ,goods is the cause of the naira losing value...the love for foreign universities, foreign hospitals, foreign rice, foreign SUV cars, Prado jeep, foreign fuel, disel kerosene and other foreign things are the cause of the naira depreciating and losing value against the dollars

Guy if you want to be upset. Na your problem

None of us can read Obi's mind to tell you what he would have done differently.

But one thing for certain, AT LEAST OBI WAS TALKING. Right or wrong, I feel Obi truly CARED for the plight of Nigerians. All we can do is READ these politicians to the best of our ability. We don't know them .

One guy wanted the position.
One guy felt he deserved the position. AND was not TALKING

But the undeniable truth is Nigerians did not really want Tinubu. PO being in the race and the split votes elected Tinubu
