Talking about CNG I thought people at a point started using it for their generator set?
What happened to the noise and hype that a lot of people were seriously and massively importing the noozles, it was flooded everywhere like every corner of the country.
Why did the campaign stopped especially now that fuel price is skyrocketing?
Abi na me no dey observant?
Are people still using them?
If it worked and paid those who converted their generator set I believe a lot of people won't need all these preaching to know they should switch.

That was LPG (Cooking Gas), not CNG.

That one was okay, until the government stopped the tax waiver.

@Glithronix, what are you guys up to! I can't go online on indriver except I allow them use my location "all the time" instead of "when using the app". Why will indriver want to have my location"all the time". I just feel is not right.
Boss, I have seen this on my app now, and that's a total crap.
Why would they want to have access to my location on & offline the app? sad
That's stalking, mehn!
What stoopid measure is that?!
Well, after closing, I turn off my location.
With that, I don't think they should have access to where I am.
These people are going beyond normal business for wanting to know where I am even without being online.

You rookies are getting it wrong!

Bonus given to riders doesn't affect you. You get your full money from Bolt because bolt will balance you whatever was given to the rider.

Go to the details to confirm this.

And I see no reasons for being abusive when someone doesn't support your opinion undecided .

You were already abusive by calling me a rookie which is dumb of you as I am obligated to air my complains after driving on the app for three years now. If bolt wants to award bonuses it should be subtracted from their commission instead while I get the full payment as the payment is even not enough. Imagine driving for an hour after showing 7k+ on the app I'm getting 6300 as the final fare which normally the 7k fare isn't even enough. Why can't I get the full payment from the rider while the commission on the trip is deducted without affecting the initial fare

As someone said, many drivers feed from hand to mouth, (no work no chop). I have done just 3 trips this week and they were all destination trips. My advice to anyone that cares to listen now will be to start looking for something else to do. Driving with the current price of fuel and cost of car maintenance with the current fares is not it at all.
Also, I just spent 150k on AC

You’re on point boss.

I don't want to believe some drivers are living from hand to mouth, hence their accepting just any trips as two people have opined so far. Driving hustle is one that the cost of inputs (particularly fuel) will hit you within a short while, so if you are not operating profitably, the reality will hit you within 48hours max when you need to refill your tank, as you will wonder where all your money went.

While factors like road familiarity, proximity to residence or other desired locations can make some drivers accept certain trips with seeming ridiculous amount, I do believe that most of such drivers have gained some efficiency as regards "source of power" for their cars

I personally see this whole fuel chaos and crisis as a blessing in disguise, because it will ultimately lead to people seeking independence from fuel as fuel is not only so expensive, it is also extremely difficult to buy. We are already seeing a significant a massive adoption of solar energy in households, offices and industries.

While we wait for solar or electric-powered vehicles to become mainstream in Nigeria, a quick way to reduce your reliance on fuel and gain some efficiency as a driver is through the adoption of CNG in the mid-term.

I know this is a touchy subject as some of us have valid reasons against CNG, but I cannot see any other alternative that brings cost-savings even in the short term for drivers that are always on the road, and I think e-hailing drivers and companies should be on the forefront of this CNG adoption because there is a limit to how high prices can be increased to.

On one of my visits to NIPCO CNG Station at MFM to make enquiries early this year, I met 2 e-hailing drivers and I was shocked at the savings they reported when they compared operational cost of fuel and CNG even as at then. I can only imagine what those cost-savings will be now that fuel price is on steroid. Infact, one of them stays at Ajah, but he has structured his schedule to get a trip that will bring him to MFM axis so that he can refuel before going home for the day.

Let us work towards de-coupling ourselves from fuel as much as possible. It is a curse and a tool with which a few elite have held us hostage for decades. I hope we see several NGOs and Non-profits springing up to drive this, because it is a just cause.

#DecoupleFromFuel

It’s not about getting the CNG itself, but the after effect. I think one need to take out time to study this.

Funny enough, majority of those riders know what's up.
Since the change in fuel price, I don't pick rides, I bid higher and they mostly accept.
Today alone, the extra tips I got from them covered my meal for the day, 3k.
These people been tipping extra like say dem plan am this week.
But I dey compare Bolt and indrive for same ride - indrive dey high pass bolt in SOME areas and vice versa.
Well, fuel don increase, rides must increase, too. No time. cool

Much respect, boss.

Few, not all. Some will leave the price to the barest because they know one driver will eventually pick it. To some drivers it’s about more trips, more money, but how about breaking even? Car maintenance as well?

Well I think we don’t have enough riders right now. Every where seem boring with Baba’s midas touch. I just open the app to even see what the price looks like on a normal Monday morning rush and it’s not enticing atall.

If u say u have driven for upto 3years and you are still complaining about rider discounts eating into your earnings, then ur level of comprehension is quit low. U would have just jejely accepted ur rookie tag than show everyone ur level of IQ.
If u do a 10k trip and u are asked to collect 5k, the balance N2,500 will be paid to u by Bolt, same way they pay u your money if u do a card trip. Don't forget your money in a 10k is approximately N7,500 and bolt takes N2,500. So if they are asking u to collect N6,300 and u are crying for your balance of N700, have u forgotten u owe Bolt even more than N700 in commission after doing a trip of 7k? The lesser rider discounts you have, the more frequently u will have to pay money into Bolt bank account to reduce your negative balance for their commission. Are u one of those guys who will never do a card trip because u think u have driven for free?
Don't worry about Bolt discount to riders, what you should worry about is either Bolt reduces their commission or increases the fares. That's what puts more money in your pocket.

Oya pele, you're not a rookie (if this is condescending) but you sound like a newbie or maybe you are not good at calculations.

Like I said, go back to ride details and calculate.

Take your eyes from rider's discount while calculating. Remove Bolt's commission and see what's left as your earnings.

I don't know how else this can be simplified to you, and if you can't get it after this, forget about it.

A suggestion:
Post a screenshot of a ride that has rider's discount so that ants here can explain better.

I actually didn't even read his post properly before responding to him. Such payment misunderstanding should be from someone that just started not someone with 3 years on the job.
If there's a lack of understanding after this explanation of yours, then there's nothing else to make it understandable.

You feel slighted when you were referred to as a rookie. The issues you raised are just too basic. Its only rookies that are bothered by such things.Every trip you take on an operator, there's a service charge deductible from the gross fare.. in this case, Bolt is your operator, so you are entitled to only 75. 03 %or so of the gross fares. It's always accurate.

We aren't talking about price, we are talking about Bolt taking ur money after asking u to collect discounted amount from Rider.

Honestly, the price isn't encouraging at all, I've been home for straight 2 weeks now, was seriously sick. Just yesterday, I said let me even try and go out, I started seeing alagbole to osapa for 9k, can you imagine, infact, all the trips were so annoying that I just got discouraged and stayed back. I was hoping there will be surge on Monday morning on bolt, but when I went online, everywhere just white.

How are drivers working, copes with this prices?

there is nothing like impossible here I know people that bolt takes 15% commissions from unless there rule of engagement has changed.....the more you are working on there platform and your acceptance rate and driver score is good they reduce there commissions on your trips. Go and verify it
