Throwback to 2019 when Cllr Yemi Adenuga was elected as the first ever black female public administrative and Meath County council’s first migrant councillor.

Yesterday, she made a post about the general election and her re-nomination to contest the councillorship position and some group of Obidient camped on her Twitter page in anger because she is Yoruba who greeted Tinubu when he got sworn in as president in 2023.

Below is her official page.

Yemi is Ireland’s first ever elected Black Female public representative and Meath County Council’s first migrant councillor. She ran in the local elections of May 2019 and was elected as a Fine Gael councillor, representing Navan Municipal District. Yemi and her family ‘The Adenugas’ are the first migrant family to feature on the TV hit reality show ‘Gogglebox Ireland’ which airs on Virgin Media Ireland. Yemi first lived in Dublin when she came to Ireland in 2000, and relocated to Navan in 2004, where she lives with her husband and children.

Yemi has a background in Radio and TV Broadcasting as a presenter, Newscaster, producer and Talk show host. She is a People Development Strategist, a Confidence Coach and an entrepreneur who builds people through the MIB INSTITUTE of People Development. She holds a Post-graduate certificate in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise from the University of Dublin (UCD) Innovation Academy, a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree (Project Management stream) from the Liverpool John Moores University, United Kingdom, a Bachelors of Business Studies (BBS Honors, Entrepreneurship Stream) and a Diploma in Business Studies (Human Resource Management Stream) both from University College Dublin (UCD).

The hatred of Igbos towards the Yorubas should be checkmated, it has gone beyond ordinary. You can't be living in our land with this so much hate, you're only calling for your disaster sorry to say.

That’s great. She will surely win the actual election slated for next year. They love her where she reside and she respect her hosts.

However, conservative movements are sweeping Ireland and they think they should be the one representing their own people. I kinda agree with them, and even if the lady lose due to that, it’s good coz the voice of the people is heard.

Either ways, I wish her best of luck

All these distractions just to shift focus away from Tinubu's failed government? It won't work.

It's high time Nigerians leave Tinubu supporters behind and unite to move this country forward!

I am yet to know what we really want to archive from all this tribal rants ..

And Yankees , do not see us by tribe if they want to bully or rebuke us, they says , Nigerian. But someone here will be looking for tribe to tackle ..

Who is against her? They said she met her Ronu match in Ireland. You can't be compelling people to go to their place in their country and then expect others not to replicate same in even far away another man's country.
Do to others what you want others to do for you

They actually already started seeing us as different ethnicities now.

Infact in Yankee now, it’s common for people to ask you are you Yoruba or Igbo when they know you’re Nigerian.

Life doesn’t work that way.

Obidients are bitter people. They camp on her post because she is Yoruba.

—If she disrespect her host and call Ireland no man’s land, they won’t be mumu to vote her in the first place. She did none of that.

—Yoruba Ronu is a good concept, you cannot denigrate my tribe everyday and expect to have a safe landing or cordial relationship with me, it’s not done anywhere in the world.

—Ireland already exhibit “Ireland Ronu” and they are conservatives. Even under her comment, some of them are asking her to go back to rule in her country. That’s fine, I love that because it shows every conservative person that love their country are now Ronuing. I want all country to Ronu.

Nigerian politicians really finished evil works on middle and lower class, using tribalism, they understand the importance and power of unity, it carries a very powerful force. no wonder u hardly find adverts on national tv encouraging oneness and unity between the major 3 tribes as usual. how do we even carry out a successful revolution, weather peaceful or not when we are so tribalized and diverged in opinion and ideas which is a tool used by these evil politicians that dines together weather Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa, they come together to still kill and destroy and sow seed of hatred and tribal bigotry among lower and middle class. LET BE CONSCIOUS ESPECIALLY THE EDUCATED ONES, WE ARE HUMAN FIRST, WE ALL BUY FROM SAME MARKET, FEEL SAME PAIN, AND HAPPINNESS . LET'S FOCUS ON HOW TO TAKLE OVER , DONT BE DISTRACTED BY IGBO, YORUBA, HAUSA IDEOLOGY, USED AS A TOOL TOMAKE US DIVIDED AND CONTINUE TO BE AS WE ARE.

Nobody hates you! The post that surfaced earlier on Nairaland is simply telling the foolish, petty, tribalistic and thuggish ones among you that it's actually insane to ask other Nigerians not to vote in your land when your people are in other countries contesting for elective positions.

A very significant number of Yorubas and Igbos are bigots, however, some Igbos, especially the hardcore Obi supporters have taken bigotry to another dimension, a very dangerous one, at that. I'm sure very few bigoted Yorubas will go online and invade a diasporan Igbo over his or her politics or alignment, but same can't be said of the igbos, they bully any Yoruba person they see online, including politicians, sportsman, entertainers, etc, some of who had nothing to do with Tinubu.

The Yorubas are not bigot, they are just pushing back the gbajue people. Hausa/Fulani were dragged around for years during Sai Baba tenure, it was until the youth wing issued quit notice to them that their leaders start running around, begging around and the arrival of Buhari that quenched the tension back then.

It is good the Yorubas didn't fold for them and we shall see who will laugh last.

The same tribalistic, foolish, petty, and thuggish ones amongst you that chased Akeredolu's wife from Imo state vying for senate seat because she married a yoruba man

The same thuggish, tribalistic, petty, and foolish ones among you that vowed that Bianca, the wife of Ojukwu, your skirt wearing, run away saviour once upon a time, will never be a senator because she's not from Anambra, same igbo o, discrimination amongst you

Same Yoruba that has times without number, elected non-yoruba into elected positions and appointment, while it has never happened in Igbo land except once or twice recently, while we've done that for years, is who you're trying to gaslight? Explain why hypocrisy has refused to leave your brain?

2023 election made Yorubas dump their civility and accommodating tendencies when we all realised all of you are bunch of hate filled nomenclatures due to envy and jealousy of a region doing better than your region in every aspect of life, that's why we decided to ronu and heavily push back giving you much more dose of your medicine, even Sanwolu had to ronu by force when he decided not to appoint any of your people among his cabinet like his first term

We've learnt our lesson, and we are already correcting our mistakes, never again will we allow ourselves loose guard again, so stay tuned for more gbas gbos from us, this is just the beginning.
