Calafiori to leave Italy's camp due to injury. He will be back at Arsenal in order to be assessed ahead of the derby.

International break should be scrapped TBH. I'm not saying this as an Arsenal fan but as a football fan.
Ahhh, thank God.
Read early hours of this morning that the coach was even considering to start him In their next game since it's not serious. For him to fly back to Arsenal means that he'll be ready in time for the Derby and there's really nothing to worry about.

As for Int'l break, even though I would want it to be scrapped but I've come to realize it's a necessary evil. Example, Afcon and WC qualifiers. Without it, the qualifiers round won't be possible

Can they just get Gyokeres already?

The Auba dissent has already set bad precedence for Osimhen and sadly his outbursts was the final coffin nail for that school of thought to hold. Tales of his dressing room issues too aren't helping. Some managers like such a players and sabi influence a change of trajectory, eg Mourinho.

I doubt Arteta is on that level yet. A Victor must wear our jersey. Anyone but Gyokeres abeg.

Go and scrap it na. As if players don't play for club and get injured and these club use more of these players than national teams they play for. If they scrap it, how will you comment on your dedicated super eagles thread. pathetic hypocrite, he says one thing there and come here and say the opposite

You have sense. You no be mostob. Besides, IB helps underperforming teams e.g everton, recover and reinforce for upcoming matches

I think fifa pays clubs that there player gets injured during IB. Injuries can happen anytime and to anyone regardless of when and where they're playing. If they scrap IB how we go take watch world cup and other national matches when the season is off?.

It doesn't look good at all. Even their coach confirmed it.
As it is now, there's high percent chance he'll miss NLD. The hope is that he doesn't miss more than that

Odegaards injury looked serious.

Hard luck to him. I feel sorry for him.

Man is a real hard worker. He has been unfortunate in his last couple of games. Getting kicked up and down.

How ever, we shouldn’t let this affect our objective for NLD.

We have to win it no matter what.

Tbh, I’m skeptical going to NLD without Ordegarrd

It's too early to start giving excuses
Injuries is part of football even though this is an unfortunate event, this is where manager comes to play
Now we will know if we regret not buying striker or not replacing the fringe players we let go off
It's time for our agba coach to tweak tactics, I don't see why we can't still beat spuds with what we have

We’re talking of our most creative player here, merino is not even available even if he was I don’t know if he’s technical like Ordegarrd.

The issue here is I don’t know who gonna replace him supposing he’s not fit and I don’t want them to start Nwaneri cause you can’t start a lad in a very competitive match for his first start not to affect his confidence.
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by BlueRayDick: 11:55am On Sep 10
But that Mikel Merino injury no try at all.

I also have a reservation about letting Viera join Porto on loan; I feel it is not a well thought out plan at all. Viera is like the only natural player that can play that AM role in the absence of Odegaard, and we just let him go without an obvious deputy.

I believe if Arteta set his mind on giving Viera at least 10-15 minutes action every weekend when Odegaard is subbed off and gives him starting shirt in cup games, it would've helped Viera and also helped the club at this point.

If Odegaard's injury is long-term , it will not be funny at all.

Nwaneri is odegaard deputy so he should be able to replace him or zinny
What I know is kaikai should not come close to the midfield on Sunday
Timber should be careful with his tackles he got into a fight with werey ghost(ex scummies) with a bad tackle
Spuds are not in great form at the moment, we should get something out of it

Of course I know he’s Ordegarrd deputy but handling him his first game in a NLD can affect him if he doesn’t perform well, If he’s eventually given that, I hope he performs cause he can also clear all doubt with that match and Zinny will be okay for the role tho, he’s also technical and same height with Ordegarrd.

I hope we get something from the match also cause spuds is not in form at the moment

Omorr, arsenal without Odegaard, I don't know oo cos I don't know who's really creative that we have left (no Esr, no Viera sef). If they can just put Zinny there, I'll be happy but I doubt.

Na real mechanical ball we go okay that day cheesy

That's obviously because Arteta can't guarantee him minutes this season. If Arteta was able to convince him to stay then he sure would've.

Maybe not scrap it totally but at least modify the qualification format to reduce the number of matches. They already have Euro qualification matches but still added Nation's league. More tourney, more matches. Ok, what happen to playoff format? It can even be something like a 21-day mid-season break where these international matches will be played. Clubs are always at the receiving end. I won't be surprised when clubs stop releasing players to protect their interests.

Go and read my post up there again.

An outfield player is not same as a goalkeeper . Every team uses one goalkeeper all through a match .

But a coach has the chance of substituting 5 outfield players within 90 minutes . The same way we usually substitute Martinelli for Trossard , Timber for Odegaard , etc; we can always Sub Odegaard out for Viera when he’s fit.

I’m sure with that kind of arrangement Viera will be interested in staying . But it’s obvious Arteta would rather use Odegaard for 90 minutes .

If I was in Viera’s shoes , I would leave too because I can seee from the coach’s approach that he doesn’t have any plan for me at all

Bro an unhappy player is bad for the squad
He is not getting playing time

I agree with you.

It’s an opportunity for the team to show their mental strength and for the coach to show his creativity.

I just don’t want any negativity about our fixtures.

We have to work with what we have.

We are both saying the same thing . I’m not advocating for us to keep an unhappy player , rather I’m saying it was Arteta’s man-management that made him leave .

If Arteta had made him understand that he has a role to play in his team this season, he would’ve stayed .

This is where I disagree, why will he stay when he knows he won’t get more than 5-10 minutes per match when he can go and play 75+ per match elsewhere
Na 10 Porto give am o stop playing
He is a confirm starter
