The team tried but they need to be more clinical at the front of goal . We failed to take some chances . Osihmen should always start if he is fit . The match is just a test when we meet Rwanda in the world cup qualifiers. AE must come up with a stronger game plan if we have any hope of qualifying for the world cup . Rwanda will surely give South Africa headache ,we just need to do our part by winning

Again , why was the goal disallowed. This referee is not wise. He made the players uncomfortable

Still won't solve the midfield issue

Except your idea of a midfielder is a dribbler..

is he a midfielder?
dude always holding on to ball for too long, him go dribble with bad endpoint
we need a ball holder who has good passing sense, Iwobi is not fitting into this role

AE should be kept along with the 2 Assistants. Let him oversees the match next month as well. One step at a time. NFF shouldn't offer him the Job permanently for now.

Honestly, we were tactically disappointing today. Yes, the players put in some good shifts, even Ndidi played better in the starting of the second half.

But,

We need to start building up from behind. Kicking out long balls and hoping for favour is totally outdated.

This is super eagles best game since after the afcon but luck wasn’t on our side.

AE should be given the job permanently cus I foresee him even doing more with this team

Eguavoen should always bring Iwobi in first half and Bashiru second half. He should also stop fielding only Ndidi in that midfield, add Onyeka. 3-5-2.

Mujtahida:

Make una dey calm down. Boniface is good. Give him time. Ademola struggled too in his first 4 or 5 matches. Some were even doubting his abilities. Look at him now. Boniface will come good. His movement is good. He hit the bar. These are signs.
Give him time in an important match like this? This foolish decision by AE is what just cost us three points. The other is benchinng Iwobi all game.

When you're looking for goals your most creative midfielder should be on the pitch and that is Iwobi.

Why is it so hard for Nigeria to find a proper homegrown midfielder
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 4:09pm On Sep 10
Heck, if the Rwandan team can build from the back repeatedly, what is Austin Eguavoen's excuse?

You can't tell me Ndah, Ekong, Ajayi or Calvin Bassey have not been coached to play tactical build up plays. So what is this excuse for the repeated fruitless long balls.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by TheSuperNerd(m): 4:09pm On Sep 10
The Rwandan GK is good but I recall he was also in goal when Nwabali faced him in the SA Cup Quarter finals earlier this year in April. Nwabali's Chippa beat him and TS galaxy 2-0.

Nwabali also made a last minute penalty save in that game.

Ntwari is good but today just went his way. Not better than Nwabali at all.

He is MOTM but who won't be motivated having their president come watch them live? We move!

....not yet bro, a step at a time. Yes we played well hence I don't understand why some folks are bitter with the match result. We are simply unlucky.

There is no need to look for a blame, AE did well tactically.

we would need good luck all the way if we are going to qualify for the WC.

Onyedika has shown repeatedly that his offers more to the team when it comes to movement and positioning. He is also crisp when it comes to passes and also filling gaps. How come Ndidi keeps getting the nod.

Eguavoen should really take time to align his strategy and give his assistants room to make tactical improvement to the whole philosophical approach of the team.

Iwobi not starting today is my reservation for the coach today and I asked earlier on this thread is he injured? Except that the coach did all the necessary subs

Calm down bro, ball ain't toy. Toying around with balls means nothing. How many attempt on targets they got?! Tactically we were superior, the game plan was ok.
