I really can't understand why pro players can finish clear cut chances, we zero excuse not to win today and the players should burry their head in shame.

I'm honestly in support of AE getting the SE job, NFF is a terrible institution that can't be trusted

that has always been our issue, not a big fan of Eguavoen but with what I saw today, he should continue. It's been a long time since I saw Eagles full of energy and composure at the same time. They never panicked after settling into the game. It's not about the opposition most times but the mentality of the team. This team has character
Nigerians. Their cry is always gimme gimme gimme. No patience, no faith.

Walahi if I were the one in charge, Eguavoen would have continued after failing to qualify us for the WC. Yes. Success is a process that involves failure. We want to succeed, we don't want to fail. But you cannot succeed, without failing.

Jpes was losing matches, drawing matches. We allow am. He took us to AFCON finals. If it's our own, two match with bad results, they start crying sack sack sack.

Joining the attack but not with patterned build up plays or transitioning of the ball. That is the problem.

Which buildup or pattern are you actually talking about bro. Pls rewatch the match and you gonna give the team and AE their deserved flowers.

Once either Bassey or Semi is on the ball, WB does tuck in while WF drifts wide. WB tucks in to free up the WF. The pattern and tactics were damn clear and spot on - we were simply unlucky.

oga joe our players never reach this level o, maybe as they play more together that's if we don't change coach so soon, this knocking of the ball no be every player sabi am o, make we no go use reggae scatter our blues o na beg I dey beg

That is why I am talking about the shape of the team. We need more midfield adherence from the coaching crew.

With Onyedika, Iwobi and Dele Bashiru, we can comfortably knock the ball to create clear chances for the forwards. With Bruno and Aina, you have two players that can move with and without the ball soundly. Semi and Ekong are good ball players. Ndah and Bassey are sound too. We have no excuse not to play in a more controlled manner.

I expect Eguavoen to work on this going forward. He really had time to prepare for the game. I can cut him some slack due to that.

Any chance we hoofed the ball forward was a chance for a controlled build up play.

We need our forwards having clear chances. We can't achieve that with poor build up plays and transitions.
Playing from the back is not the only way to build play and transition. Sometimes you build from the back, sometimes you use long balls. Shikena

You want tiki-taka, but AE prefers wing play. Pls allow the man to breathe, stats are their to prove he gets it right.

Reading it slowly only reveals how poor your take is.

I mean, Goke7 posted how many shots SE had in the game. We had 9 and Ntwari had 9 saves. Saying if he was too good he'd have made one more save is not it abeg

Okay

I love long balls, but they should be to space. The keyword is to space. If you are sending the ball long to a tight area, it is careless play and creates more work for the receiver.

Most of our long balls were not to areas in space. This is due to poor buildups and transitions.

Playing wing plays and long balls is not bad but we need to play in a more controlled manner to make it effective. We need to create more offensive room for our forwards and reduce them playing in tight areas.

You can only achieve this with controlled play.

So they should work on the precision of their long balls. Semi appears to be doing floating long balls.

Disorganizing the opposition setup is the key for spaces and then precision passes will help exploit the spaces. We are sending our long balls without adequate spaces for our forwards. That is why you have our forwards running against defenses a lot.

Either way, the coaching crew should get to work. Match analysis time and proffering solutions comes now.

I agree on this. With or without tiki, our team have players and sense to be capable of breaking down teams that sit back. Any excuse of "they park the bus" should not be valid by now. Yet....

Cross+Nod+CK
Cross+Clearance+sharp recovery before opponents reach centre line
Crosses and positioning. That would have wearied them so bad before Osimhen came in. Most of the time they countered us, there was no recoveries until they misplaced a pass themselves or they got to our 25yrd zone. Smh

So the fluidity of these team is affected when Iwobi doesn't play? Yet he is the most criticized by fans. Whether game was physical or not, if he played, he will offer more for the front 3 than anyone else. I dunno about Nacho sha. What happened? undecided
From coach to coach Nacho appears to have become a fringe player. Even on the thread, nobody seem to care. 😏😏

the 3 midfielders you mentioned can't play together at the same time for now and you know it. You're so fixated on Onyedika and I understand but we need an Ndidi or an Onyeka holding the forte it's either a bashiru or an Iwobi. Am more sold on Iwobi though
