Steep:I wish you would be ready to debate with me on this. The Bible condones slavery, misogyny, ra.pe, racism, assault etc, all instructions from your god. So if this makes this video useless, cos the bible is not a moral compass at all |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 2:03pm On Sep 11 |
jaephoenix:The bible does not condone slavery, except in cases of the old where people voluntary submitted themselves to serve under a master or enemies who werr captured (used as to reduce the fighting men of enemy nations). There is no misogyny in the bible, and the bible does not condone rape, the argument that the bible condone rape has being debunked already. Atheism can not not justify morality, if there is no God then morality simply becomes and opinion. 1 Like |

Steep:Now lets break down the bible. I'll show you verses where your god condones all sorts of crimes. Slavery Leviticus 25:44-46 New International Version 44 “‘Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. 45 You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly. Lev. 24:44-46 says you can purchase foreign slaves and their children, and treat them as your property, and pass them to your children as an inheritance. Exodus 21:20-21 says a Hebrew can beat a slave as much as he wants, as long as they survive for at least two days, "for the slave is his property". Exodus 21:7-11 says a daughter who is sold into slavery is not to be set free, but the master can sell her if she doesn't please him. In the New Testament, Paul says "Slaves, obey your masters with respect and fear" (Eph. 6:5) Slaves must accept their position with humility (Eph. 6:5- Slaves must please their master "in everything" (Titus 2:9, Colossians 3:22) If your master is a Christian, you should work even harder to serve him so that you show respect to God. (1 Tim. 6:1-2) No where does the Bible explicitly speak out against slavery. No where does the Bible say "Thou shalt not own another person as property." To say that other cultures practiced slavery so God allowed it is to argue for moral and cultural relativism. God gave the Hebrews moral and cultural laws to seperate them from other nations. Any person separated from his family and sold on the auction block probably wished God had clearly condemned it. Laws of Rape (Deuteronomy 22:28-29 NAB) Rape If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her. What kind of lunatic would make a rape victim marry her attacker? Answer: God. Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB) If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife. It is clear that God doesn’t give a damn about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation of another mans “property”. Murder (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT) They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho. Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. “Why have you let all the women live?” he demanded. “These are the very ones who followed Balaam’s advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD’s people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves. Clearly Moses and God approves of rape of virgins. Murder, rape, and pillage at Jabesh-gilead (Judges 21:10-24 NLT) So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. “This is what you are to do,” they said. “Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin.” Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan. Genocide: Deut 20:16-17 has God ordering the Hebrews to commit 6 complete and total genocides. 1 Sam 15:3 has God explicitly ordering another complete and total genocide including killing infants. Rape: Deut 22:28-29 lays out the means by which a man may rape a virgin, pay off her father, and marry her. Nothing says that she has the right to say no. Do you want more verses? |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 8:07pm On Sep 11 |
jaephoenix:same old debunked rhetorics. First Israel was prohibited from kidnapping and taking people as slaves. Slaves were people who willingly sold themselves into slavery, or people whom their parents sold into slavery due to disobedience, and slaves were more of workers, they were to work for their masters while in return he takes care of them. The slaves become the masters property meaning he is responsible for them. Exodus 21:20-21 says a Hebrew can beat a slave as much as he wants, as long as they survive for at least two days, "for the slave is his property".If the servant die due injury the master shall be put to death, so he had keep spending money to treat him hence wasting his money. Exodus 21:7-11 says a daughter who is sold into slavery is not to be set free, but the master can sell her if she doesn't please him. That is a lie, on the contrary the female servant would be redeem and should not be resold. In the New Testament, Paul says "Slaves, obey your masters with respect and fear" (Eph. 6:5)It is for the protection of the slave because in Rome the penalty for a disobedience slave is death but however Paul laid the ground work for their freedom. He told Philmont to recieve a run away slave not just as a freeman but as a brother. Philemon 1:15 For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou shouldest receive him for ever; 1:16 Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord? If your master is a Christian, you should work even harder to serve him so that you show respect to God. (1 Tim. 6:1-2). Thousands of years later through Christianity slavery was abolished. No where does the Bible explicitly speak out against slavery. No where does the Bible say "Thou shalt not own another person as property."because that wold not change people's heart only after christ came he brought grace and transformed the heart those who recieve him. To say that other cultures practiced slavery so God allowed it is to argue for moral and cultural relativism. God gave the Hebrews moral and cultural laws to seperate them from other nations. Any person separated from his family and sold on the auction block probably wished God had clearly condemned it.First of all forced slavery was abolished in the old testament, laws to make the Israelities have a better human relationship was passed however laws do not change people's heart. The true human change came when Jesus was revealed. RapeThere was no word forced in the Hebrew text. It wasn't rape but consexual sex but because the girl's bride price was not paid it can be said that the man grabbed her without paying her bride price and again the word used is not same word as rape. Death to the Rape Victim (Deuteronomy 22:23-24 NAB)That is a lie, it is not rape. She and the man were found to be having sex outside of marriage both were to be killed. If within the city a man comes upon a maiden who is betrothed, and has relations with her, you shall bring them both out of the gate of the city and there stone them to death: the girl because she did not cry out for help though she was in the city, and the man because he violated his neighbors wife.did you see where it was stipulated within the city were she could easily cry for help. This is not rape but contextual sex. It is clear that God doesn’t give a damn about the rape victim. He is only concerned about the violation of another mans “property”.That is a lie, those were not rape victims. Murder (Numbers 31:7-18 NLT)There is no where it indicates they were raped. Kept for yourselves means they could marry them, and Israel do not practice forced marriage. Deuteronomy 21:11 And seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and hast a desire unto her, that thou wouldest have her to thy wife; 21:12 Then thou shalt bring her home to thine house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails; 21:13 And she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thine house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife " removing the garment of her captivity indicate she should be treated as a free woman. Murder, rape, and pillage at Jabesh-gilead (Judges 21:10-24 NLT)which were duly punished, God did not condole such acts. The bible records human sinful acts in other to learn lesson and desist from it. So they sent twelve thousand warriors to Jabesh-gilead with orders to kill everyone there, including women and children. “This is what you are to do,” they said. “Completely destroy all the males and every woman who is not a virgin.” Among the residents of Jabesh-gilead they found four hundred young virgins who had never slept with a man, and they brought them to the camp at Shiloh in the land of Canaan.God orders the anhilation of certain nations because they also did so to others and slo the dangers their exist would be for the future of the world. Those nations were carnivores and they offered babies and children for human sacrifice. And only few nations inhl history, Israel never went around wiping out others. Rape:That is a lie, again those were no forced sex but consensual ones. 1 Like |

Steep:Whoa! I have never seen such conglomerate of lies in my life. Either you decide not to read your bible or you are dishonest. 1. People were kidnapped by instructions from your god for slavery. It says so in those passages but somehow u didn’t read them. And yes, forced slavery is very much practiced in ancient israel and condoned by yahweh. 2. Paul only told slaves to be good boys and girls. Did he tell the slavers to STOP TAKING PEOPLE AS SLAVES? NO. DID JESUS OR YAHWEH SAY SLAVERY IS A SIN, NO 3. There was no consensual sex there. It was rape. Plain rape. So why should the poor girl be killed for being raped? The passage even used the word 'rape' and not consensual sex 4. So why can't yahweh preach peace to those barbaric nations instead of attacking and killing them? 1 Like |

Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by LordReed(m): 4:23pm On Sep 12 |
Steep: Atheism doesn't attempt to justify morality because it asks only one question do you believe in a god, yes or no. Besides morality doesn't need justification because it is its own justification. We act moral because it helps us both as individuals and as societies. |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by jaephoenix(m): 7:04pm On Sep 12 |

Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 11:16am On Sep 20 |
LordReed:Atheism cannot justify morality. You contradicting yourself by saying Morality doesn't need to be justified and at the same time Morality is to help individuals and society. So if Morality is for individual or society need, so it is moral to slave an elderly sick person in other to take his or her money because it helps the individual and also unburden the society of resources needed to take care of the sick? |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by LordReed(m): 12:10pm On Sep 20 |
Steep: Atheism doesn't need to. Morality is reason enough by itself to justify itself. This is no contradiction. If an act can produce good for both the doer and his surroundings then it doesn't need external justification. How is your scenario producing good for the elderly sick person? |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 1:19pm On Sep 20 |
LordReed: Atheism cannot justify morality. morality for the sake of morality, just like eating for the sake of eating, according to you the purpose of morality is to help individual and the society, so according to your moral view it killing a sick person for personal sake or for societal sake is moral. Why should should you care about the sick person elderly person? |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by LordReed(m): 2:07pm On Sep 20 |
Steep: You can keep repeating Atheism cannot justify morality, it won't change the answer Atheism doesn't need to. And the question still stands what good is the sick person getting? |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 2:29pm On Sep 20 |
LordReed:I didn't say Atheism needs to, but it cant? Why should an individual care about the good of a sick person? |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by LordReed(m): 3:28pm On Sep 20 |
Steep: Yes, you are correct it can't, same way a spoon can't be a house. But it doesn't need to since morality is not a question it deals with. Several reasons. Could be there's a familial bond or just the desire of the individual or just not wanting people to suffer, et cetera, et cetera. |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 3:39pm On Sep 20 |
LordReed:Thanks for being honest. Atheism cannot justify morality and according to your definition morality is a matter of feeling, connection or personal or societal use. Rape, murder, stealing can be labelled good if it benefits individual or society or it is suits the feelings of the individual its all relative. |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by LordReed(m): 3:59pm On Sep 20 |
Steep: Again it doesn't need to. Would you try to make a spoon into a house? I didn't define morality. I gave reasons why an individual may care for a sick person, answering your question. You realize your Bible labelled those things as moral at some point? 1 Like |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 5:31pm On Sep 20 |
LordReed:Definition might not be the right word but like you said atheism justify morality. Morality is determined by society and individual whims and caprices hence anything goes. |
Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by LordReed(m): 5:35pm On Sep 20 |
Steep: Yes, morality is determined both by individuals and society collectively. It always has, it probably always will be unless maybe AI takes over or something. |

jaephoenix: You were on the thread were i showed you that the bible does not condemns slavery and all the other things you said I directly condemned, so you are talking nonsense as usual eg 1) Leviticus 19:18 "Thou shall not steal (whether persons or things. Exodus 20:15/17 expanded its scope) neither deal falsely". It is dealing falsely to take a houseboy/girl for service which is what you told their lawful Masters (parents) only for you to turn them to slaves in your house and beating and evil treating them. 2) Leviticus 25:17 "Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God:" 3) Exodus 23:9 "Thou shalt not oppress a stranger: 4) Exodus 20:21 "Thou shalt neither vex a stranger nor oppress him: 5) Exodus 20:22 "ye shall not afflict ...a fatherless child". 6) Exodus 23:2 "Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil:" 7) Exodus 23:6 "Thou shalt not wrest the judgement of thy poor in his cause" 1 Like |

Re: Student Left Speechless By This Question (exposing The Atheists Mistake) by Steep(m): 6:31pm On Sep 20 |
LordReed:That means slavery was totally fine because the whole society accepted by the society it at that time, it also means the murdering of millions of jews since the nazists accepted it as ok. It means those who fought against the society for the freedom of slaves were immoral. Lol so AL would determine your morality in future? If society say rape is OK then it is morally right, the killing of twins, cannibalism and human ritual in some societies is morally ok according atheism. Atheism can't build anything it doesn't have anything to stand on, it is what it is meaningless, aimless materialistic immoral world view in which anything goes as long as it is accepted by society and individuals not even Richard Dawkins one of the leading pioneers of the new atheistic movement want to live in such world. |
