Ikmontana1: Sorry I didn't see it earlier. I was busy away from here. We should try and update ourselves, seek any available new info before investing. I was thinking you will update the house with your finding from the ordeal today but you didn't. You should do so. That it will add to the available info here. I have always said it here that whenever we invest in TB, we should endeavour to collect the proof/certificate of investment and If it is through mobile app we read the instructions/terms carefully and if possible screenshot or download them where necessary because therein lies the contract binding us and the issuer. On premature termination you could loose money in many ways. I don't know how your came about. First, is that it normally attracts fees which is usually stated on the proof of investment. Especially this one that's not been long you did it. Secondly, terminating it will either mean the bank buying or selling to another interest investor. Most times it's going to be priced in their favour. Meaning the rate you got may not be the rate it will be resold. When it's resold at a higher rate than you bought you will loose money especially because it was not long you bought before terminating. Thirdly, another determinant is the prevailing market rates of TB. Also, the transaction fee seems to be higher when they broker deal in the secondary market than when you just invest in secondary. However, whatever the case would have been, it should not warrant the loss of over 200k. That's absurd. Except the termination is due to unforeseen circumstances, next time it's better with call, term/fixed deposits or even MMF. With them, termination only affects your earned interest. It doesn't affect your principal/capital but TB can and will affect it depending how it is later sold. 5 Likes |

Ikmontana1:. You need to clarify if the 8.9m invested includes the interest reinvested or that's the initial investment. |

Hello! First of all. Please forgive some of my typos. I am typing this in very busy place. I am been following this thread and one thing I have come to realize is most of you are matured and well experienced in the game. Now I have been sobar for some months now. I I am a freelancer. I earn well for my age (21) heading to 22 coming January, and My goal entering 2024 was to up my earnings through Amazon KDP. But I am still here doing the same freelance from last year. To be honest school also contributed because I am in my final year, so it has been hectic for me to engage in other things aside my freelance and education. With the knowledge I have gathered I am sure after school I can up my earning with both freelance and kdp into at least a thousand dollar monthly. Now the big issue is, I used to think making money at a young age was the problem. But it isn’t the problem is how you use the money and invest it for your future. I have seen and heard several stories of people who used to ball at their young age but are now broke in their 40s. Those kind of stories scare me to the core. I have been on several threads looking for what to do with my life. I have been in the Federal Government job thread observing if I can buy a job (in case of job security) I have been in tbe crypto thread, Japa thread, and a lot more. Though most of the information they share there are good. Most of them have their risks on the other side. Which is why I have come here to seek the advise of made men and women. Please what kind of investments and moves should I make to secure my 40s from any tsunami. Is it business? shares? savings? Japa from Nigeria? Buying a federal job I can fall back too? Or going back to school and study medicine? Also is it advisable to get married at a young age. Let say mid 20s. Some people say it helps to sharpen you think faculty and help you become a better and more responsible man. While others say it’s a bad move in this present Nigeria. I am a computer science student , and have some tech skills which is why I am considering Japa. But Ai Dey make me think twice Please help me! I need advices. I am a young man and want to secure my future and that of my unborn kids. 1 Like 1 Share |

dreamxhaser: You don't need to buy a job. You already earn some money, focus on the skills you currently have and you will become better. I would advise you also continue to develop your self if you want to work Go do SCRUM AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT to put yourself in good stead to get a good job in naija or to japa like you mentioned And then learn to invest .... |

Goodday honourable investors. Please I will like to clarify something on FGN Savings Bond, if should invest 1 million naira for 365days at 10% interest paid quarterly...does it means I will get interest of 400,000 naira in a year? Please senior investors your contributions on how to calculate the interest amount will be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by NL1960: 5:11pm On Sep 10 |
bobojoshua: Interest = ( Principal * Rate * Tenor ) / ( Days in Year * 100) Interest = 1,000,000 * 10 * 365 ) / ( 365 * 100 ) Interest = 3,650,000,000 / 36,500 Interest = 100,000 Quarterly Payment = 100,000/4 = 25,000 8 Likes 1 Share |

bobojoshua: Always remember that all interests are annualised. No matter the frequency of payment, each has to be a fraction of the annualised interest total. Meanwhile, they are supposed to pay some coupon today and, just like last month, it's looking like they'd postpone it. 2 Likes |

dreamxhaser: This is one thing I expect young men to be thinking about. I have a cousin who made so such money at your age,in fact,I heard an equivalent of 100million naira in 1989 down the 1990's but today, he is not just broke but frustrated and lonely. His wife left him all his side chick's left him and his landlord quited him from the house he could have bought over when he was very rich. Everyone has deserted him and now,he is in the village living in his family house. I remembered one of his girlfriends who works with FCDA begged him to come and buy a newly allocated land in Maitama then,he called the place a forest and as I speak today, there is not land in Maitama that is less than 300million per plot that is, if u can get one. My brother, wisdom is profitable to all men who seek it. For the fact that u have decided to seek for it,u will not go astray. I made my first million at the ripe age of 27 and ever since then,i have not looked back. No investment is 100% guaranteed but there are investments that u would do today,u will never regret doing them. Invest in landed property in choice areas of ur state and invest in other liquid assets as well and pls, don't rush into marriage except for cultural reasons. Marrying at this age can disorientate u and cause u an unbelievable trauma beyond ur strength and further deplete ur financial progress. Another is,govt job would slow ur growth and potentials, avoid it like a plague except u have the tendencies to steal. I have been there and i can say this without any apology although, there are few exceptions. Self employment is the bedrock of freedom and happiness. 15 Likes 1 Share |

efismikoko: No you are not alone. That payment is actually supposed to be on 15 which is a Sunday and this was to come on Monday now instead but another problem again is that the Monday is a public holiday. So you should start expecting it from Tuesday. 1 Like |

Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by freeman67: 7:39am On Sep 15 |
efismikoko: Ok Sorry for the assumption. I was thinking it's the one for June 2024. That said, you have been lucky with it. Even though that's how it should be, in most cases it's not always that way especially because it is government run. Most times in this dispensation the payments are done a day or 2 after and where it involves weekends and public holidays it could be more. So, just exercise some patience it will come. 1 Like |

Bakosokoto: Sometimes, I envy those APC people sha. Because I really don't understand what drives their optimism about Nigeria. Most of them have been prophesying for years that dollar would crash and that "hoarders" would cry. But that hasn't happened for years. Instead, dollars keep going up. Only a mad man keeps doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. 1 Like |
