Yes, I appreciate.

Cashmadam:

Yes you can. I believe the start date of the new visa will be after the expiry date of your current visa. To the best of my knowledge, there is no provision for "overlapping visas"

I hope this helps.

You mean sometimes,. Even though does not available dates available for the time you want by checking often and often it's possible appointment dates come up ?

And also yesterday while booking for the appointment date which is their many dates fjr this week ?

KaylaO:
I just booked my appointment yesterday and I was able to find a free time on the day I wanted and for self service too, although when I checked last week, the date I wanted did not have any free slots. So, I think you can just keep checking over and over and free dates and time slots will come up. That's what I did though. Hope this helps.

This is Part5 of the UK visiting/tourist visa thread

Part 4 is here https://www.nairaland.com/5233246/general-uk-visa-enquiries-part

Visit this link for application and other info https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor-visa/apply

Good luck

So I began this UK work visa application some weeks ago and completed it. Last week Thursday my family and I went for biometrics capture which went on smoothly. Just today, we got a mail stating that we made an incorrect Visa fee payment. We had to withdraw the application to begin a reapplication. Now we are in a fix. How long will the embassy refund the visa fee, IHS etc? Will we have to run another POF?

Who has had this experience, what did you do

No, you don't need a transit visa if your only layover is Egypt. And no, you don't need a yellow card.

What to Know

In case this is your first international flight, note the following:

1. Print and arrange all relevant documents
2. Identify your terminal before travel date
3. Check-in and select your seat online (airline website or app)
4. Pack your 2 × 23kg and 10kg bags
5. Arrive at the airport 3-4 hours before your flight
6. Scan your bags at the terminal gate/entrance
7. You may be asked to pay 3-4k by the Agriculture guys if you carry a lot of food
8. Weigh your bags at the weighing stand
9. Go to your airline counter to complete check-in formalities and get your boarding passes
10. WRAP YOUR BAGS O
11. Proceed to Customs and Immigration
12. Go through the final security checks (wear comfy outfit/shoes because you will be asked to remove and tender everything except your clothes)
13. NDLEA may stop and check/question you, so prepare your mind
14. Proceed to your boarding gate and wait for boarding announcement

Note: The new terminal at MMIA is the terminal 2 while the old one is the terminal 1. Looks like Egypt Air departs from the T1, please confirm on your ticket. This information is for Lagos only.

Good luck and safe trip.

Yes, it's dependent on the airline. Had 10kg with Virgin Atlantic, so Egypt might differ.

Hi everyone,
Please I need some advice regarding the visa application process for my mum, which I plan to submit in November. The visa will be fully sponsored by me and my spouse. Currently, she is not working and is financially supported by us.

As of two days ago, her account had a balance of ₦590,000 from her savings, but one of my siblings accidentally transferred out ₦400,000.
Given this situation, I have a few questions: Should I start building her account balance again for the next three months (although December will be a bit far as I would have prefer her to be here closer to my delivery) or would a bank statement covering two months (September-November) suffice? or can I include an explanation for the transfer in her cover letter?

I really look forward to your responses. Thanks in anticipation.

If it is a debit, it's fine. Leave it. It's a credit that you really need to explain.

Provide her statement of account for 6 months and add your documents as her sponsor.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Follow the process again.

If it still doesn't work, take your documents tomorrow and pay for them to be uploaded. I hope your name will be on the list of those on appointment.

In addition to Cashmadam's advice, I would also suggest that you separately explain what the debit was meant for, the month it occurred, and how it isn't part of your mom's normal monthly expenses.

Some ECOs are funny so it's better to explain.

Hello bosses,
Im a silent reader here.
Please I have a question.
I am to travel with a group from work for a trainng by the end of this month. Did biometrics on 26th Aug. Two of the people have gotten the visa (they have previous travel history). One of which we did biometrics same day. I got the below email yesterday, what do you guys think?

Dear Customer

Thank you for your Visa Application which has arrived at the UKVI Decision Making Centre and is now awaiting consideration:

Depending on the service you purchased, we aim to process:

- Super priority visa applications the day after biometric submission

- Priority visa applications within 5 working days of biometric submission

- All other visa applications within 15 workings days of biometric submission*

You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre when your passport is ready for collection. Please do not attend the Visa Application Centre until you have been invited to do so.

*Please note the above about current processing times and extremely high demand. We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.

If you enrolled your biometrics at a US Dept of Homeland Security Application Support Centre (ASC) then the processing time on your application will start as soon as we receive confirmation from the New York Scanning Hub that your supporting documents have been received and uploaded to our system. If you attended a VFS Premium Application Centre (PAC) then the processing time starts on the day you enrolled your biometrics.

Please refrain from contacting the enquiry service within the processing times. You will be contacted again when your application has been considered...

Good day everyone.

Pls I need the input of people with experience on this matter:

As an international student travelling for the first time from Lagos to London:

Which Airline will you advise I go with, based on affordability and smooth flight experience without stories like missing luggage etc?

How many days/weeks is best to book ahead?

Which day of the week is flight at it's cheapest?

Pls note that my program will start on 10th October.

You don't need transit visa. If you're arriving in the evening and your second flight is the next day, they're supposed to provide hotel accomodation for you.

You need Yellow card.

Compare prices for different airlines on sites like wakanow.

Avoid airlines that connect through EU nations like France, Netherlands etc as that will require you to get a transit visa.

Thanks so much for this. God bless. But, Please, you said I don't need yellow card. Another person said I need yellow card. On this comment. I'm flying from Abuja. Please, clarify. Secondly, the flight has a 12 hrs layover at Cairo. I don't need a hotel. I feel I can wait at the airport terminal for my next flight to avoid issues with border control demanding transit visa. Please clarify

The airline with keep everyone in the same hotel and provide transportation to and fro the airport.

I nearly missed my flight and January due to yellow card.

I feel Nigerians didn't get treated well at the airport in Cairo so shine your eyes and expect delays in getting you to the hotel but just make sure you stay close to other passengers when you arrive Cairo.

In my opinion, conflicting information regarding your employment status in your previous and current applications.

Being the 4th refusal, I will advise that you leave the UK for now.. Credibility issues at stake as inferred from the refusal notes.

Apply to other countries and build a travel history.

I wish you the best!

You get to check in 23kg x2 luggages. It cost 375 euros on way.

From my experience, flights on Mondays are the cheapest. Avoid Friday to Sunday. Check all the dates and compare the cost.

You can check Emirates, Qatar, Ethopian Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Rwanda Air. I would recommend Qatar and Emirates - if you don't mind the long route. They are efficient and you don't need transit visa. The airports in Dubai and Doha are beautiful and will add to your flying experience. If you fly to Manchester, you might get to fly on the Airbus A380 - the world's largest commercial passenger aircraft. Beautiful plane smiley

Avoid Air Moroc and Egypt Air.

You need transit visa for KLM, Lufthansa, Air France...

British Airways and Virgin Atlantic will be very expensive. Buy your ticket as soon as you can.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Your employment history is not adding up...

Your refusal affected your Dad's application.

Simply put. They believe that if the information on your application is not adding up, then the information your Dad provided cannot be relied on.

Leave UK for a while. Go to other Countries a few times to build your travel history.

By the way, what do you mean by business meetings? Sounds vague to me..
