Well this pain in the ass amalgamation would have died long ago but the accord signed after independence by the then leaders like Tafawa, Awolowoo, Azikiwe etc would have helps each region to go in peace but one man called Azikwe from my region betrayed Tafawa, Awolowo etc went secretly to the Queen of England and removed the "clause" that allow any region to break up but my own people never talk of such first betrayer in Nigeria history but were busy shouting betrayer on Awollowo simpy for backing out of the damn useless civil war shit. Honestly Awolowo did the right thing as payback to Zik betrayer by backing out of the useless greed civil war, all student of history here should go and verify my statement its there in our national library and archive. Now same people that removed the "clause" now shouting Biafra we want sorry is too late, it would have be done long ago more easily but greed and the spirit of invader blunt my people vision to see the future simply they want Lagos by all means which will never happen now, not in the future and never in world to come. Hate me for being blunt I don't care, I will never support mediocre in the name of tribe. Truth is a bitter pill. 2 Likes |

Jayhome24: You guys are laughable The white man came from Europe to bring us all together by force But before we can go our seperate ways, one man called Zik must agree? Was Zik there when the British were creating Nigeria? So why must Zik be there before Nigeria is dissolved? Why must you have seperation cause for something created by the white man? We can shake hands and go our seperate ways? Why must you wait for Zik? People are still suffering from colonial mentality in the 21st century 5 Likes 1 Share |

We should reconsider this amalgamation. Only the north and west were coarsed into witnessing without even signing anything. This should be the proper time to revisit this issue and go through a referendum to know whether we agree to remain as Nigerians or ho for a confederation of the various groups, probably through the existing six zone 1 Like 2 Shares |

DevilsEqual: More like the British knowingly assembled the gullible retarded leaders of the groups of people whom they have already conquered and had gained total control over, and we're banking on the the fact that those leaders would not be able to comprehend the contents of the documents and foolishly sign away the very little power they had. Some of the groups absent in that congregation of Bunkum, already had verifiable civilization history dating back to 750 A.D. Some artifacts from their past are in British Museums at this very moment. 3 Likes 1 Share |

I suggest that because Nigerians wants to decorate their office 🏢 and probably trampled under feet another country's seat and office, that theirs by logic should stand. That is called fallacy of decodence, so, if all Nigerians would pretend to rent their office to be head, then we all will be happy Nigerians. So, apart from tour, you can see to the end of the ocean 💡 ❄ |

In essence, Nigeria is not really a country but a grouping of conquered tribes of nations forced together as a free market for the Brits. And they have been milking and mining the lands with Shell and the other companies that own mining rights. It is a shame that after the Brits are gone, the feudal lords decided to continue to force the union in other to have legitimacy to loot. There is no country here actually. No wonder successive presidencies are buying and selling and converting everything knowing that the place is just a free market for anyone to take from. What a bombshell. 4 Likes 1 Share |

chiagozien: Exactly, that's why the whole thing is absurd. We can't seperate peacefully unless one man called Zik supported secession clause You need secession clause to break something created by the white man from Europe. Which unity clause did the White man need to create Nigeria? 3 Likes 1 Share |

SmartPolician:You’re wrong.. Benin has always been a yoruba extraction. Did you read about the history? Did you know the first Oba of Benin was a Yoruba man? He was oranmiyan’s son. So, I think the tradition then was that whenever there’s Ooni of Ife in presentation, it’s of no need Oba of Benin to be present.. It’s still like this almost till date self. Tho, this present Oba of Benin is changing things compare to past ones. Some Benin people came out recently to say the present Oba of Benin is from Ile-Ife. You barely see Oba of Benin & Ooni in the same gathering.. Benin empire was also built by the first Oba of Benin - a Yoruba man! 2 Likes |

madridguy: In places like India and Nigeria, the British used local divisions, rivalries, and existing hierarchies to their advantage. By playing off rival groups against each other, they were able to control large populations without the need for massive military forces. The British often worked with local rulers and elites, offering them positions of power under British rule in exchange for loyalty. This helped maintain control with minimal resistance. they extracted vast amounts of resources from their colonies, particularly from India (cotton, spices, tea) and Africa (palm oil, minerals). These resources fueled British industry and wealth, further strengthening the empire. they were major players in the transatlantic slave trade, which provided labor for their colonies in the Americas and added to their wealth. In many cases, the regions the British conquered were politically fragmented, with numerous competing states, tribes, or kingdoms. This made it easier for the British to conquer and rule these areas piecemeal. They brought their systems and culture to each colony and met little resistance Plus they had the most technologically advanced Navy and disciplined military 1 Like |

DevilsEqual: You just proved your illiteracy. Those people were chosen because they were the easiest to influence. The Igbos were republican in nature, their leaders don't make decisions without the input of the council of elders. The Bini kingdom was highly influential too, but the British couldn't influence them. The Binis even fought a war with the British. This shows you that even back then, the British knew you guys were as docile as lambs, and as unthinking as rocks 1 Like 1 Share |
