If we had a serious government and a working economy with great Labor laws, no teacher should earn below the minimum wage, whether public or private.

There should be a law against such reprehensible nonsense!


If you can't pay a bare minimum wage, then you have no business owning or running a school!


If doctors and nurses in the private sector are not underpaid, why should teachers?!!

Education and Health are not sectors that any nation should joke with...!

I know of schools that still pay 20k to teachers this year

And the most annoying thing is that the 20k sef will not be paid on time. Some will even owe teachers 2 month salary

I was recently going through a hard time which makes me accept an offer in a private school somewhere in Ekiti state
I was been paid 35k taking a science subject at senior level including maths at junior level.
It's been so hard that I hardly eat.
Now he want to increase to 50k due to the minimum wage movement. Even if I'm paid 150k, it won't be enough

As an hustler then after nysc no job, I remember applying to one school for a post of school bus driver, the proprietor was convincing me to go for the teaching job, of course I had taught in some schools before uni and after graduation but the task in teaching made me opt for the school bus driving
