You submitted August 8th. I submitted July 3rd. We have people on this platform who submitted June who are yet to get a decision or an update on their application. Also, IRCC has increased their processing time for Nigeria from 6 weeks to 8 weeks. If we are to use the usual 6 weeks to evaluate your application, you're still a week and 2 days away from panicking. Now that processing time is 8 weeks, you're 3 weeks and 2 days to be anxious about your application. I'll advise you to relax and take your mind off the application. Do some fun activities while you wait. When it's exactly 8 weeks and you haven't gotten an update, you can send a webform. Don't get yourself anxious on what you don't have control over.

Hello House,
I have been restless for days now.

I submitted the application for study visa since August 8 by using a new GCkey account but I have not heard anything from IRCC.

Kindly help me look at my application timeline, Can someone tell me when am I going to receive decision and what is likely to happen to my application?

Thanks

Thank you for your response ma bro.

The breakdown by Ircc was what is in my scholarship letter when my offer was increased from 22kCAD to 29k+CAD

I have emailed my professor and this is his advice:

I do not want to complicate the matter by giving a wrong advice here, but for the section below, maybe a note that states the tuition may be paid after arrival should suffice. Another note from SFU or government of Canada that shows the expected living expenses is probably helpful as well. Note that at SFU domestic and international graduate students have the same tuition fee (its value can be mentioned).

Note as I stated in my previous query here: Tuition is 8k+, I even found out that university residence is about 8k+.

Technically, I feel the the scholarship offer should cover the tuition fee and living expenses.

My fault during my application:
I didn't submit any bank statements.
And I also didn't submit the 250$ acceptance deposit I paid, I only stated I paid it.

My concerns
The VO is expected to know that my tuition fee is supposed to come from my financial aid. Because I mention my professor as my sponsor.

If he/she grants me visa, I will sort out my fares.

Why he/she is been concerned about my business statements, when I provided every other documents.

Well, I will submit another application again... Even though class has started and see how it goes.

MarksmanD:
Boss, are you certain you got a full scholarship? The other day, you claimed you don't know what the details of the scholarship entails but you're certain it covers tuition and expenses. For IRCC to break this point down to you, it means that you'll cover the tuition and part of the living expenses till you start collecting your stipend from the program. Write to your school and confirm again and send them the GCMS notes to get their thoughts.

Good morning all, please I need further clarification, I have gotten my visa days ago but there's no port of entry introduction letter yet and I learned that it is mandatory at the border for study permit proper. My question is, what should I do now?

You'd better start calling for funds and not even think about getting a job in that part of Canada to pay your school fees or rent. My friend's wife is in college in London and has been unable to find a job for over 10 months now. The husband has been selling properties in Nigeria to support her, and she complains that many students are in a similar situation!

I think we need to be careful with GIC. If you read from the link above, it can be seen that many guys are having problems getting their money back from CIBC even after visa rejection. We need someone to educate us about this.

Thanks
MarksmanD:
Why don't you transfer the money to your account or do GIC?

If your visa was issued very recently, there might be a slight delay in receiving the POE Introduction Letter. It can take a few days after the visa is approved. Most times your stamped passport is returned before it will show. You don't need to worry.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by MarksmanD: 10:13am On Sep 14
This is a standard procedure. No institution is going to give you a refund without completing the refund request. The article you shared, the OP had issues with meeting the procedure. Let's not use one person's experience to claim there's an issue with it.

I will suggest you break down the funding into a table to show where it will be applied to, and arrive at available balance that is accessible to you.
Also, you will need to show your funds for flight cost and a little extra to help you settle in before you start getting payment from the school.

Your suggestions is very helpful.

Thank you.

What do you advice as regards my co-founded company account statement... it was Moniepoint MFB we where using to operate, and we stop using it last year, due to company inactivity as my second have traveled to Australia for further studies.

Should I upload the Moniepoint MFB statement for last business year and again most VO don't accept MFB statement...

What do you suggest on how to tackle this issue.

My friend in canada need your help,
She just got to canada this September and she has finished her registration but she wanted to change her course.. pls what did she need to do ? And is there any implication to this decision?

How exactly?
Canada government is carrying out the plans to reduce the number of permanent resident coming to canada through express entry PR pathway and also reducing the number of temporary residents arrivals, because of pressure on housing and to lower immigration level..
As of now only Canadian experience class, province nominee program majority of these candidates are already in Canada and French language proficiency draws which is priority is regular in express entry..
And will adjust overall immigration level plan for 2025 to 2027 for permanent residents admissions, which will also now include number of temporary resident intake for 2025 to 2027,new immigration level plan will be released this fall 2024.

If the funds are still with Moniepoint, move them to a commecial bank and explain the movement in your SOP and back it up with statement from Moniepoint and statement from the commercial bank.

Your reply and the quoted post are the reasons I emphasise that not everyone should/ought to leave Nigeria. One, moving to a foreign land only to be stranded because he does not have money for housing within a week! A man selling his hard-earned properties to support a struggling student, his wife, who has not found a student job in almost a year.

At these points, is it not better to shine teeth with Tinubu and have peace of mind? If I talk, dem go say I dey abroad. Yes, but my situation is different: I had money to offset hostel fees for six months. In fact, the school requested I with-hold payment for two months as that is the standard for international students. So technically, I stayed in the hostel for free in two months. Also, I was well prepared financially regarding tuition fees and all. Leaving your country to a foreign land (not a state in a different geopolitical region) only to be stranded makes no sense to me. Selling your hard-earned properties to support one who has not found a job in almost a year has no economic bearing.

Slug it out with Tinubu.

I paid a year rent from Nigeria. How can you move to a foreign country and be homeless in a week? The journey is long.

The funds are no longer in Moniepoint... We stopped using it, and started using personal account since for partner left for Australia.

I think it's best I submit statements for last business year and see if it convince the VO.... I will attached my SOA along side bank reference letter and see how it goes.

You are failing to address the major concerns of the VO.
Your tuition fee was called a research income..., do you know what that means, in your offer letter, what was the fund for??
Is either your SOP is not detailed enough or it is confusing the VO.
I suggest you work on your SOP, make it more understandable.

VO think the fund is a reward for your research input, and so you should pay your tuition fees before you commence your research in the said institute. I am sure this assumption does not correspond with your scholarship package, because I had same offer.
This is your third application, try and cover all loops.
Good luck.
