This is because of all the jargon ideas you were fed while back in Nigeria(and probably by some you may have met abroad). Among those jargon are ideas such as, "Home—many confuse as meaning Nigeria—is the best,", "No matter where you go, you will always return to your roots—Nigeria,", etc., all of these were lies used to indoctrinate and keep many mentally tied down for many generations. Rid yourself of such ideas and you will be well on your way to settling well into the society you find yourself in abroad. undecided

Be warned.
Village people syndrome is a mental virus planted in your brains by your scammers-in-the-lords, Imams, and elders in Nigeria to keep your minds tied to their affairs back in Nigeria. The moment you rid yourself of that infection, you will even forget the details of all that once belonged there. undecided

It will be long before your brain adjusts.

It took more than 10 years for my dreams to adjust to our new family house after we moved for the first time.

Now that I live alone, I still haven't had a single dream with my new house as the setting. It's always that old family house we moved out of, or rarely, the new one.

Na still my best ex I dey see for dream. Even cuddled new babe in the middle of the night calling the name of my ex. She made sure to inform an embarrassed me in the morning. SMH.

With time things go adjust. No be everything be village people.

For this life, it's the spiritual that controls the physical, like play like play, u go just find yourself for naija. Bad people back home are ontop your matter.

CAN YOU AND YOUR FELLOW IDIOTS SHUT UP.

SMALL CHILDREN TALKING RUBBISH BECAUSE YOU ARE SHALLOW-MINDED, IGNORANT, AND THOUGHTLESS.

Before colonialists invaded this country and introduced their GUTTER RELIGION CALLED CHRISTIANITY, if a man wanted to embark on a long journey, he would go and consult TRADITIONAL PRIESTS who will sit down with him, AND USING DIVINATION, discover if the journey would yield positive or negative outcomes.

BASED ON THAT INSIGHT, the man would decide if to embark on the journey or not.

For all we know, THIS GUY'S SPIRIT IS CALLING HIM BACK TO NIGERIA FOR A REASON.

It could be to avoid an accident there, or a broken marriage, or joblessness, or even a criminal attack.

It could also be because his DESTINY FOR SUCCESS lies in Nigeria.

There are MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN NIGERIA DOING BETTER THAN PEOPLE OVERSEAS.

Many Nigerians overseas are frustrated, jobless, or working in jobs that don't match their qualifications.

You don't know what his CHI has seen ahead of him.

SO SHUT THE HELL UP, ALL OF YOU.

Mentally colonised dolts who don't know anything.

It happened to me.
One of the answers is simply because you left as an ADULT.
Most people leaving as Adults will keep watching and cleaving to Nigerian News as it were when they were when in Nigeria. Your brain will adjust with time when kids start gowing up with you there.
The more you try to bleach yourself of your Nigerianess, the more you Fail.

An 8 year old child migrating to the United States forgets Nigeria in weeks.
But for an Adult, it's a Big No, owing to the wounds, impressions, funfairs, memories you would be taking along with. My daughter joined me in the US and forgot Nigeria in weeks. Can't recall classmates whom she just left. What an illusion!

This is normal to dream about your home land where you were born and raised that is where spirit returns when you sleep.
I am talking from experience.I live abroad for over 18 year and my dreams are always around my loved ones in Nigeria.
To be honest you have no spiritual connection to your base so you have to dream about where you are familiar with.
But children born abroad is a different case.

See how you reason like animals. Like rats.

it has nothing to do with leaving as an adult as there are so many Nigerians who arrived here as kids that still haven't been able to let Nigeria go even as adults. It's all about programming — the jargon plunged into one's head by those around one while in Nigeria. undecided

Check the children of your politicians, for instance, many of them are more quickly able to abandon Nigeria and only seek it out much later when trouble hits them outside. And when they do, they don't remember it fondly but as a place where they can go get piles of money for the life they like to live. undecided

Concentrate on how to make money and if you are not a legal resident get that done first, those shuld be your priorities for now.
Once that is done and you can afford it always think about Nigeria and invest your money back home.
I relocated abroad about 15 years ago yet I miss Nigeria daily and there is never a time I do not go back to Nigeria atleast one or two times in a year.
So don't let people make you think it's a crime thinking about your country.
I have dual citizenship yet most times I still travel with my Niger passport.
So stop listening to all these negative minded people on social media.
Not everyone in Nigeria is suffering as we have friends coming over for holidays yet they returned back to Nigeria bcus they always say that they can't live elsewhere aside Nigeria and they are living good life in the same Nigeria.
