It's a sigh of relief. We hope the nnpc won't put all their calculations on this refinery at the expense of portharcout and Warri refineries. A private firm will first consider it's profit before anything. Nigeria deserve more than just a single man pocketing all of us but for now, congratulations Dangote industries and Nigerians. Hope transport can now start coming down because these transporters are now more heartless than nnpc themselves.

No Govt owned refinery in Nigeria will ever work.

This is good news!.

Let's celebrate this!

This can further help the naira to appreciate!.
No more importation and landing cost of petrol!

Let's see if the 766-800 price is genuine

Importation will still continue for now but lower volume.

You can't buy fuel at this current price and still be able to sleep

God will punish the generation of anyone trying to pay subsidy henceforth

Don't pay any useless subsidy again, let us face it once and for all. I believe without subsidy on the useless fuel we will not die.

WE just need other companies to come up so that fuel can become sim card

Forget PH, Warri or Kaduna refineries, there is a reason Nitel is literarily dead. Corruption is at its peak in any government owned establishment. Dangote is probably going to climb into the top 10 wealthiest Billionaires in a few years for this initiative, but this is a step in the right direction for Africa

Simply say one man has done what the rest of us could not do.

Nigerians like to blame the government for everything and rarely want to believe that they share the blame in anything.
atiku4President:
Good one. One man has done what a heavily corrupt government has preached over the years that it is impossible. Shame to NNPC and all those who have turned oil to a curse for Nigerians.

My point exactly...subsidy payment at abt 30 to 50 % should continue. Now our petrol consumption will drop as its only 1 supplier there subsidy fraud will be almost completely eliminated meaning very little subsidy payment.
Nigeria will also open up wit economy as 30% saving on fx frm petrol importation will help reduce exchange rate which will also bring down dangote price further.
Then later on subsidy on petrol removed completely.i mean if dangote starts selling at 500 as a result of drop in price of crude ,watS d need for subsidy again?

They should also watch out for smugglers at the borders because we can’t be subsidizing products for neighboring countries (this will be difficult because security agencies at borders collect monies from smugglers to look the other way)

We need another set of Dangote to take hold step in owning a refinery.

Forget about government refinery (pH, Warri) .
Corruption won't make it work

Bua refinery too is likely to start next year that is another massive refinery too

BUA Group will operate the upcoming Akwa Ibom III cracking refinery, proposed to be built at Akwa Ibom, Nigeria. According to GlobalData, who tracks and profiles more than 1,400 refineries worldwide, the integrated cracking refinery will be owned by BUA Group, with operations expected to start in 2025
