Are you saying if inflation keeps going up, the apps company shouldn't increase price cox they might experience low patronage?

Seems you don't know the importance of transportation, even if this apps increases the price by 50% today, people will still patronize cox transportation is essential in the society.

I understand there will be a slight dip in patronage, but in the end, people will adjust coz they have to move. And for the fact we offer safety and not just comfort, they have no choice...

U seem to be under an illusion. Even when u are experiencing it, u are still denying the truth. Fact remains trips have reduced because it is becoming too expensive for a lot of people. Even food that's more important than transportation has experience a decline in sales. People now do 001, the ones that patronized farmcity are now going to foodies and yakoyo.
Simple thing I am saying is as ur product/service gets more expensive, d fewer the patronage. If u like agree, if u like disagree. It doesn't change the fact that Berger to Lekki is now min 10k on Bolt and if u dont have it, u will either look for who will collect 6-7k on Indrive, or look for yellow cab by the road side or go and enter BRT. Don't think urself indispensable for ones.

Water, food and life saving medicine are examples of products that have perfectly inelastic demand. They have no alternatives.

Transportation isn't and ehailing certainly is not. Even though transportation is essential, the number of trips people take reduces as the price increases. They also consider alternatives which includes walking.

When I renewed my license and was asked to come pick it up, I waited till I had something else to do around that area and used one stone for two birds.

Don't let anyone deceive you, pearl19 is absolutely right. Take us back to the days of 1.5m Tokunbo Corolla and see if you'll get one trip in 30 minutes at current prices.

To think this is someone carrying Oniru to Ebutemeta for N4,600. Even at the former fuel price, I will not look twice at such a trip twice. Request has declined, many people are fixing ridiculous prices like Pope showed, Omoapena is seeing and experiencing it, yet he is arguing. Omo that guy matter done tire me.

I'm not disputing there isn't dip in patronage atm, but there are hardcore customers that will never go for any alternatives except Uber/bolt even if the price hit the highest, and for those that have tasted Uber/bolt experience, but couldn't be consistent due to high price, they will still come back by the time they factor in the stress and how unsecured the alternatives are.

This is just like someone who has been used to driving his car to anywhere and anytime, do you think it will be comfortable for such person to be jumping bus or taxi cox he can't afford fuel price anymore.

What you don't understand rn is, people are waiting to see how the economy is going, the moment everyone have accepted the current fuel price, things will fall back to normal and everyone will adjust and accept reality, you don't expect activities to just be normal when there's slight increase in inflation, it's not even a month yet, and you already concluded this is the way it will keep going...

I never said it will stop either, you're claiming the dip in patronage will go on forever if they increase price and I'm telling you it won't, & activities will resume back once everyone accept the current fuel price.

Stop making reference to past arguments, these are 2 different topics and discussions, except you just want to troll

You don't expect bolt not to increase price when inflation hits the economic, I don't understand where your point is even coming from, so you expect drivers to be the one suffering for the rise in inflation cox passengers won't be able to afford it if the price goes up, common, I expect you to think from a complex angle, everyone rendering service that requires fuel will have to increase price rn and that's the only way they can stay in business or else, they will be forced out of business...

I think this thread is now becoming a thread of hate and troll that can't handle a proper critics, once you disagree to any of their statement, trolling don start.

You're saying passengers won't be able to afford the service if price keeps going up, so drivers should be the one bearing it, this is someone collecting 40k as delivery and at some point, he will want to increase the delivery instead of reducing it since he knows there's dip in patronage and it is the norm now.

Anyway, I will see how drivers will keep up with car maintenance cost if price remains the same.

Nobody is trolling or hating you undecided they are only telling you the reality which you are adamantly refusing to accept for reasons best known to you.

Just like how they all advised you against the 'big man' who almost took you to the abroad but you never listened till it hit you in the face. You're an okay guy oh . . . But you will still remain a Broda Benad to many of us here cool

No too vex for my input, me im not beefing you

Dangote said it's a lie.....that tulumbu will announce price.

So after all this back and forth 'table tennis' 🏓 that the government and dangote are playing right now in front of all our faces, things are still yet to dawn on you that the price of fuel is going to be higher than N950 at the pumps? shocked

What's the difference between 950 and 1,000? Just kuku 'round it up' and call it a week cool

Not this type of holiday boss. I don’t even know the reason for the holiday. I just know it’s connected to the Muslims. If anything will ever peak, it’ll be afternoon/evening and mostly short trips. If you go to VI today, you’ll tell the story for a long time 😂 you’ll do 1k from VI to Yaba Undisputedly.

Las las Everything will adjust.
Life will go back to normal
Fuel will hit 1700 per litter
It will become a normal lifestyle soon.

Nigerians are good in adjusting to things
Fuel rose to 950/l, people have adjusted to the price and are even still queuing just to get it at such high price

Spare parts have increased tremendously yet, drivers have adjusted to it and you'd hear advices like buy your parts down cos today price no be tomorrow price

Suzuki drivers have already adjusted, before you even view a trip twice it's gone

Same way even if app cos increases their fares by 50%, riders will still adjust. It only takes time
