The edge is like a combo of the middle and brownie brittle.
I know, but I don't like both textures together

Were you trying to experiment with the ground beef or sausage wasn't available?

I've made it once myself and it came out ok, nice try though.

My mom doesn't eat pork so I had to improvise with ground beef.

The eggs are wrapped in sausage, egg washed and quoted with panko/bread crumbs. I decided to use ground beef and I am not sure why the meat got loosen in the hot oil.

Have you tried mixing with seasoned flour and binding with egg?

Okay. 😀

Here is the procedure I followed: Seasoned the ground beef with salt, paprika, black pepper and adobo; then set aside. Broke three eggs and whisked them in a different bowl and set aside. Poured some store bought seasoned panko in another bowl and set aside. Put some flour with salt in another bowl and set aside. Boiled the egg, peeled them, paper dried them.

To combine, I put the egg into the flour bowl and ensure it was well coated, took a portion of beef into my palm and tried flattening it a bit. Put the flour coated egg into the beef and try covering the egg properly with the beef. Put the beef covered egg into the flour again and ensure it is well coated, then put it in the egg mixture. Put it back into the flour and then into the egg for a second egg washing. Then tossing it in the panko.

To fry, I put the oil in a deep pot, put the food thermometer and ensured it was 350F hot (this I have never done when frying but wanted it to come out very successful). Then I fried it. I am not sure it is the oil because some came out well before I finished them in the oven at 400F for 5 minutes.

Will try again and not give up.

Okay.

Try adding flour and egg to the seasoned ground beef next time, and see how it turns out.
The combo make the best binder.

This looks good. What’s your icing base?

Just milk and some sort of whip it powder if you know what I mean. You can buy the mixture in most big grocery stores. I can’t make anything from scratch when my kid thinks he is the chef. cheesy

If I make it from scratch, I normally use whipped cream and add some vanilla flavor. Or powdered sugar with a little bit of water.

After wrapping the boiled eggs with the mixed ground beef, and before coating with breadcrumbs? Yes.

Hopefully, it turns out well.

Yes, I don’t like the icings with butter at all so I prefer one of the three options mentioned above.

Google Funfetti cake (but there are plenty of recipes with buttery icing which I wouldn’t choose) or look for the mixture for funfetti cake in a store.

You know how it is. Life is meant to be enjoyed. cheesy

You and me both. I don’t even like icing at all. Yours called my attention because of how thin it is on the cake.

I’m familiar with the store-bought funfetti mixes. But the whip-it powder is new to me. I’ll be searching for it in store. Especially for all the holiday baking coming up.

Thank you 😘.

My sis! kiss

Have you ever tried powdered sugar with water? You have to add the water little by little or it will be too watery or too thick if you don’t add enough.

You can also mix the powdered sugar with milk. You might like this even more.

You can use both on muffins too.

Oh Yes. I believe that’s what they call royal icing. I’ve also tried the powdered sugar with lemon juice. Added bit by bit. It doesn’t taste sour at all. The thinness is what is appealing. Thick icing is meh

Totally agree. I‘d love to try the cake in the picture but can’t find it anywhere. However, they have the powder you need to make whipped cream stiff. Look for this brand.
