The Odo Iya Alaro Bridge in the Maryland region of Lagos state has reopened, according to the state government of Lagos.

Remember that the bridge was temporarily closed two months ago? State Transportation Commissioner Oluwaseun Osiyemi released a statement on Monday.

According to Osiyemi, the repair was overseen by the state Ministry of Works and commenced on Monday, July 22, 2024. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The commissioner claims that the improvements will make it easier to travel and conduct business between the island and the mainland.

The tweet said, “We are happy to notify all users of the road that the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge restoration, carried out by the Lagos Ministry of Works, has been finished ahead of schedule.

“The bridge will reopen today, much ahead of the original 90-day schedule, with the work completed in less than two months.

“We sincerely thank Lagosians’ cooperation and patience throughout this time. Despite the difficulties, your willingness to take detours was crucial to the timely completion of this significant project.

This rehabilitation will enhance traffic flow and ease movement between the Mainland and the Island. We also extend our gratitude to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) for their exceptional work in managing traffic during this time.”

Osiyemi appreciated the residents of the state for their “continued support in the development of our city.”

At the reopening, the deputy governor, Obafemi Hamzat, read the riot act to vandals and scavengers, warning them of the dangers and consequences of damaging government property.

Impressive. I wish we could see a replica of these all over the country so people might understand the fuel increase. Going to 2 years of the Tinubu regime, we cannot point out any significant achievement.

This will ease traffic at Alapere estate Road and ogudu road. Good development, Lagos State government is doing well. Ogun State her sister state should emulate structural development in Lagos State

Kudos Sanwo Eko, just imagine we miss this man for the clown that doesn't think in Yoruba, we can see what thinking in Yoruba entails with Sanwolu. Make that clown continue his thinking in ipob.
