Rock blasting is too much in that axis

Is not the only place they blasts rocks in FCT. I think the main reason is that the whole Mpape is on top of a hill.

Very simple thing to handle by stopping all mining activity there and check the rock formation if the miners are doing the wrong thing. If it's needs bringing expects from abroad do it. What ever happens in the future will not only affect those in that area and Aso rock is just close. Once this changes takes place so it will continue and start affecting other areas like cancer. How much will mining in that area if it's stopped for 2 years research that is equivalent to a human life. Govt should start being proactive to issues than personal gains

Rather unlikely in a basement complex.

What is likely is natural tectonic shifts which occur in nature.

That is supposed to be a really huge source of concern for those in charge over there.

Instead we operate a reactionary type of system in this country. Waiting for something terrible to happen before acting.

However, a mild tremor that's been giving us warning since three years ago is enough to make any resident in that area look for accommodation far from such place.
You gerrit my brother, here in this part of the world, we always believe that something should happened first before taken action. A kind of fire brigade approach. When lives got lost, its then we realized the gravity of the incident and great money would be voted for it.Isn't this witchcraft attitude?

Successive government have always been reactive instead of being proactive!
I last heard about this 3-4 years ago on nairaland and yet we had no information from the appropriate agencies over the cause of such tremor!
When disaster occurs, the government of the day will start making humongous contributions...same funds that could have been properly utilized to deal with the issue at its infancy!

Mining activities. Normal normal. Humans know such lead to earthquakes. The industry is so lucrative that every information on its environment effect is kept on the low.

Illegal mining is what this is. Lol. No be wetin one Muhammed tok we go base lives and properties on. It is that simple. Or is it that complicated?

Reactionary as always. They'll rather reduce the media and concerns than do the right thing. Until another mishap similar to Maiduguri's happens.

There's an illegal sto e company running in that area...

The community people reported the effect of the stone blast at brekete studio and nothing was done about it.

You are the one calling it illegal. If it were illegal to the authorities they would've stopped their operations...
Wike visited one recently

First warning was under GEJ's administration. Stop the quarry sites there. Wisdom is profitable to direct. Don't spark what we have no resources to control.

Nigeria is luckily not on a sesmic active zone, that tremors can be traced to that blasting of the mining companies
