Please help if you can. I am currently doing masters in Guidance and counselling (first semester). Does anyone have the soft copy of EDU 821 Educational statistics and EDU 807 A study guide for the distance learner? They are not available on the portal and we have a very short time to read and prepare for exams. If you have past questions too, that would go a long way. I have clicked all the links to past questions provided on this thread, none is working. |

Enskynelson: Please, I need your advice. I realised after registering my courses that the exam starts on the 15th of next month, which seems to be very short a time to cover 7 courses and be well prepped for exams. Is it possible to hold off writing the exams and push it to next semester even though I have registered them? I am running M.Ed in guidance and counselling. Kindly advise. Thanks. |

Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Enskynelson(m): 2:22pm On Sep 16, 2024 |
Buzzgal:The exam date will most likely change because of the challenges in registration that we have seen so far. If however you are not comfortable about the timing, you can proceed to the study where you should ask that your entire registration (semester reg, course reg and exams reg) be dropped for the semester. They may drop course and exams reg and often leave the semester reg. If they do that, you will lose your semester registration fees as you will still be required to do the same by next semester. Failure to drop any of the registration implies you lose your semester reg fee and exams reg fee as you will be required to register for the semester and for the exams next semester. The early you start the process, the better. Cheers |

Hi, how much should I prepare for undergraduate Certificate processing and Do I need to go to Abuja to Collect the Certificate? |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Enskynelson(m): 3:48pm On Sep 17, 2024 |
Mrincredible001:If you don't owe anything, about 25k. The faster way is to go to the HQ in Abuja. The online application takes quite a long time based on some people's experiences. |

Enskynelson:please is there any course at NOUN I can use to get a PhD in renewable energy in Europe? |
Re: National Open University Of Nigeria (NOUN) Students by Enskynelson(m): 5:00pm On Sep 18, 2024 |
Babalakin:You have to check the school you have in mind to apply for the PhD and check their requirements but in my opinion, I don't think there is any. The only available M.Sc in Faculty of Sciences is M.Sc Information Technology. In Health Sciences, there is only M.Sc. Public Health. If those M.Sc. programmes doesn't qualify you for the Ph.D. 1 Like |

Key Points from the VC Meeting with NOUN Students 1. Complaint Handling: Students facing any issues are encouraged to visit their respective study centers to lodge complaints for quicker resolution. 2. Examinations: Due to ongoing issues with the student portal, examinations will be postponed. The new exam dates will be announced, and the current academic calendar will be adjusted accordingly. 3. TMA (Tutor-Marked Assignments): - The commencement date for TMA has not yet been announced. - Students found guilty of TMA misconduct, as seen last semester, will face penalties. All students are advised to be cautious and follow the guidelines. 4. Course Materials: Only students who complete their registration on time will be able to get the hard copies of their course materials. Late registration may result in incomplete or unavailable course materials. 5. Social Media Posting: The management urges students to stop posting NOUN-related issues on social media as it harms the institution’s reputation. Instead, all complaints should be reported at the study centres. 6. E-Learning Portal: For students who are unable to see their courses on the e-learning portal, the management is waiting for more students to register. Once a substantial number of registrations are completed, the courses will be uploaded, which is expected to start from next week. 7. Graduation List: The Vice-Chancellor mentioned that a meeting with the senate will be held to discuss releasing the graduation list every semester, instead of waiting until the end of the academic session. 8. Registration Deadline for 2024_2 Semester: No update has been provided yet regarding the closing date for 2024_2 semester registration. 9. Online Facilitation and TMA: No specific dates have been announced for "Online Facilitation" and the start of TMA. 10. Student Email: The student school email is now compulsory for all students. It will be required for the majority of portal activities, so ensure that it is functional and accessible. 11. General Advice: Students are encouraged to always stay prepared and plan ahead for their studies at NOUN 2 Likes 1 Share |
