I’m struggling to set up a React development environment on my Windows 8 PC. I installed Node.js 12 because other versions aren’t compatible with my system, but I’m still encountering issues.

Neither Node.js 12 nor Bun seems to be working properly. Can anyone suggest alternative methods or tools for creating and managing React applications that might be more compatible with older systems?

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I tried updating my pc to even 8.1 but Microsoft no longer releases update for windows 8 pc.
I downloaded node version 12 since it’s the only version compatible with my pc, but I keep getting error messages each time I try to create a react app. I’m so confused and don’t know what to do anymore.
Would have bought a new pc but things are hard for me right now

Omo, I have done everything possible in this life. Nothing works. I’ve been trying this for over a week now.

You want my honest advice? Just install Linux and you won't have to deal with the nonsense restrictions that come with Windows. You can even dual boot Linux and have it alongside Windows on your laptop, that's if you want to be using Windows for working with windows specific software like Adobe products
