maestro03: Money Market Fund is savings / investment. Not an asset. It is easy to liquidate and convert to cash. There were other reasons - the visa officer just decided to add the MMF angle as a reason for refusal. |

Hi everyone and good evening, please I would like to enquire about something for a friend and your sincere responses will be appreciated. So here is it, not sure of the prescise year but that's like 13/14 years ago, an agent helped this my friend to apply for a UK tourist visa with her fiance then, so the agent told them that they should apply as a couple that is already married and with kids. So she got a passport in her fiance surname and the agent applied for them, as married with 2 children who are the children of her fiance sister but the visa was rejected on the ground that the funds available won't be sufficient for their stay in the UK. So now, she didn't marry the guy eventually and has changed her name on her passport. She want to apply to UK now just for tourist and the fear is the children that was listed in her application 13 years ago which is not hers. How will she go about and sort out all this complications please. Thanks in advance for beautiful souls that will help out a friend in distress. 1 Like |

Hi, please can a dependent (I mean someone with dependent resident permit status) send you an invitation or let's say who can send you an invitation from the UK and what are the necessary documents that the person will provide? And I asked a question before this and still waiting for answer, I'm very new here and that's my first question, this makes it the second. Thanks in advance. |

Rach86: Let the person with BRP send the invitation. Copies of BRP and data page of passport should be provided. 1 Like |

Thanks so so much ma'am, I appreciate your swift response. Okay, but is utility bills and statement of account of the person not needed as well. And yes this dependent has BRP as well. Cashmadam: |

13 years ago, there was already finger printing in the UK so definitely all of that misrepresentation and falsehood is on record. The friend should go to another country for tourist visa as there are over 194 more. Filling a new application means re-visiting all the elements of the past + more lies. Rach86: 2 Likes |

Rach86: You are welcome. Utility bills add no value. Statement of account only required if the person is a sponsor. Otherwise a simply invitation letter will do. 1 Like |

Rach86: You know, the truth will set her free. She can apply and state the facts as they are. My guess is she will most likely get a refusal. However, the correct facts will now be in their system. With time (maybe after a couple of refusals), they may forgive her and give her the visa. I know two people with a similar situation and they eventually got their visas - after several attempts. Her past lies will haunt her for a while but if she is consistent with the truth and she has the financial capacity to finance her trip, she may eventually get the visa. It really depends on how desperate she is...If she is not ready for rejections, she should forget about the UK. 3 Likes |

Funtiwon: I hope you have not bought your ticket. You need to contact UKVI to report the error and get advice on what to do. I no longer have the contact details for UKVI but I hope someone else can help. Good luck! |

Cashmadam:Thes guys here are causing worries. 2 months ago, I fixed ₦8m with a bank, for trip to UK.. It would mature on 31st October and I'm submitting application in November, 2024. Judging by the fear here, I should not bother attaching it as proof of fund even there's a certificate from the bank? |
