Greetings Everyone,

Please I need some advice:

I am applying for my parents and two of my siblings to come visit me in Canada, I’m a citizen. One of my sibling is a minor and the other one is 34. I want to use my mom as the main applicant since her travel history and account is very solid. My question is how much should my brother who is 34, show as POF, should I decouple his application from my parents and my sibling that is a minor or should I join it together. Also has anyone used gift deed as POF for tourist visa?

Thanks in advance for the responses

Hey,

IMO it’s probably better to apply for your parents with the minor& a separate application for your older sibling.

You don’t necessarily have to do a gift deed as he’s coming to visit you right, simply state in the invitation letter that you’d cover all his expenses and provide bank statement, paystubs etc to support the claim. some folks even provide mortgage agreements to show they can accommodate the relative.
All the best!!

I got my PPR today.

Below is my timeline.

Submission for me and my daugther on March 12th 2024. I didn't need Biometrics as its expires in 2027. My daugther also needed it as she is under 14.

I have previous Canada travel history in 2019. My sister was on work permit but got her PR during the wait time.

I think my daugther lack of precious canada travel history is what made the application take very long.

I wish everyone expecting their PPR best of luck.

Cheers guys!

I just messaged their customer care and was told no more appointment that I could walk in between the hours of 8am and 3:30pm to submit. I don't know if I should give it a try.

Please while submitting passports so we need to pay any fees at Sterling bank or just take to DHL and make a two way delivery. We did biometric in Lagos and we would want to send via to Lagos.

My understanding is that if you submit at the same location that you did biometrics, you should not need to pay the transmission fee to Sterling Bank. Below is the official communication.

Its really a long time but again maybe Nigerinas applying from UK also have a processing timeline that is long, they have to figure that out while exploring options like gcms note tracking.

What is the timeline for Nigerians applying from UK saying? What is your track on progress with gcms note? No one can help you better than yourself. Take charge

I saw an April 2nd 2024 Application with PPR for 20th September 2024 on Instagram today, so April Applicants get excited, eyin lokan.

Others in preceding months like me keep praying and hopeful. God is still in the business of favouring his own.

Good afternoon All,

I’m new here and I’ve found the responses very useful. I submitted my passport physically with VFS Lagos for stamping for a Canadian visiting visa. I didn’t get any confirmation via email that it has been received by VFS, but I’ve been tracking it via the VFS website and it says it has been forwarded for processing at the Canadian visa office.

Please does anyone know how long it could possibly take for the stamping and return of the passport so I can manage my expectations. And is there anyway to officially expedite the process?

Thank you in advance as I await your kind responses.

Yes, you can just walk in without an appointment. I was there on Thursday and we were attended to without an appointment. The process also didn’t take long at all.

I submitted March 2nd 2024 and just got mine on 17th September- my birthday. I believe they are still attending to March applicants and even earlier. I pray for favourable responses for everyone still awaiting responses.

It doesn't take long for your passport to return, just keep tracking it. Maximum one week.
