It's the notion that Taiwo was "washed" I was countering. That couldn't have been based on objective facts. The vast majority of Forest fans frustration with Taiwo has nothing to do with his game but his injury. He was on their no sell list just a season ago.

I personally think he should be excused from the national team for now just like I believe Kelechi has no business in the national team, but form doesn't always determine callups to national team all over the world. There are outliers like Coaches preference or sometimes fit. Maguire for example was top on Southgate's list even when he was not playing well for Man U.

All the people you mentioned in this write up apart from Boniface should be given phased out especially Onuachu, Sadiq, Moffi, Dessers,
