Popi got this wrong. You are correct, there is a type of selfishness that is just utter stupidity. Ironically, his selfishness is the bottom of the list of his issues.

He's a serial atrocious-decision-maker. He's 9 times of out 10 going to make the wrong decision in the decisive moments. This makes him a very unreliable wing player. Wing play is mostly about creating opportunities. Dude is looking to run with the ball first before thinking of opportunities. He cannot intelligently differentiate concisely between a passing opportunity and a shooting opportunity.

On top of this, he doesn't have elite mentality. He's busy riding on the accolades of a hattrick from 5 years ago, when the likes of Palmer are looking to already be better the next game. Dude is arrogant, strolling around about the place when he doesn't have the ball.
